Interestingly, not that many Germans in the photos have the reversible gear - most have the greatcoat. And quite a few shots of bare hands too! ![]()

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
I noticed that and looked for evidence of 'sprayed-on' snow
! Looks real enough though!

aaah but its whats underneath the greatcoat... can any one lend me a feldgrau uniform... I normally play in a cotton camo - something tells me it wont be quite the thing!...
It's just that I could purchase a reversible uniform for £100 or so, but I would never use it again. I have had a kind offer to borrow someone's jacket, but trousers are quite rare. I'm still thinking about a greatcoat, instead.

Ah, this is what I was looking for - some itinerary details:

You're right about the reversables, Steiner, especially the trousers, ordered mine now though and I'll be wearing them, no worries, got the jacket anyways. Probably best if you take Guy up on his kind offer to loan you his reversabvle jacket.
They have probebly got modern winter coats on underneath the greatcoats.I would lol Looks realy good what weapon will you be using Stubblehopper?

I can lend you my spare M36 jacket and trousers but they might not fit you - chest 42" waist 34" ?
I'm quite jealous that I'm not going but also slightly relieved that I don't have to! ![]()
Copied from Mr Crispies aka Unci Neil
o'er on pst for those going
Kit list.
Travelling through the Russian border is OK, but you need to be aware of a few facts.
All material deposited on Russian soil by an invading army belongs to the state. If you don’t declare it going in, and you get stopped coming out, it may be confiscated and severe delays caused.
Declaring the items going in is lengthy, time consuming and expensive. So we suggest the following:
Repro Winter coat (reversible parka white side out or great coat)
Repro Field grey trews, cammo over-trews or reversible winter padded trousers.
Long-johns (very good idea)
Fitted base layer tee-shirt
Snood
Gloves
M43 hat or winter mutze
Ankle boots and gaters or Jacks. (I prefer the ankle boots as you can wear them on the plane)
I would not advise bringing your tunic. The parka covers it anyway, and unless its an obvious repro its an expensive item to “loseâ€Â

Gonna wear as much kit as posible on the plane, Jesus I'm gonna look silly at Newcastle airport dressed in a white ww2 padded suit and clanking about in hobnailed boots with a stahlhelm tucked under my arm, hope I don't bump into anyone I know, most embarassing, probably look even sillier at Stansted, but what the f*ck gotta be done I suppose! Have to find room for feldspat, gasmask container, bayonet breadbag and canteen in my luggage. Hope I don't get arrested for having ss sigrunnes under my parka when I get the search treatment at check in!
Surely you aren't just wearing that kit for six days Stubble? Isn't that kit list just for the transfer into Russia from Finland?

I'm wearing all my kit, not shaving or washing, peeing on Steiner's hands, drinking as much vodka as possible without exploding my brains, and I'm having half of Steiner's tin of fish wether he likes it or not!
Ah, but tha's what you were trained to do - pity us poor civvies!

Where did you get the oversuit mate? And do we pay for flights seperately?

Ordered the trousers from Spearhead, got the Jacket off Fandangols, I'll probably only use the jacket though looking at the photos, not many wearing full whites here's a link to one the same as mine

Works out at around £50 for the jacket, and yes the flights are seperate, if you're coming to Newcastle they are really cheap if you book early with Easy Jet, Went to Dublin, for example, last month for £15 with Easy Jet and paid more for the taxi ride to my Hotel than I did for the flight!
