Got almost everything I need to look like a mean, green, Poland-invading machine now, but I haven't a clue how to put it together.

Pic helpful... :slap:

Poland? With Y straps? I hope not.

Take your belt, remove any buckle which should be on the right hand side of the belt.
Slip on the right hand ammo pouch for your chosen weapon.
On the Left side slip on the E-tool carrier and bayonet frog, it will depend on which e-tool you have as to the order. Non folding tool the bayonet goes between the loops of the tool cover. For the folding tool there is a loop on the side that the scabbard slips into.
Fit pistol holster to the left side then the left side mag pouch.
Put your buckle back on.
Attatch the bread bag by unbuttoning the loops and wraping them around the belt. You could slide it on the right side before the mag pouch if you wish.
So you now have a belt with bread bag over right rear hip, e-tool/bayonet left rear hip, pistol if worn left side and a mag pouch each side at the front.
Clip the two front hooks on the Y straps to the loops on the mag pouches.
Clip the rear hook between the rear most bread bag strap and the bread bag strap with the hook.
Water bottle goes on a B/bag loop as can the mess tin if you dont use an A-frame.
Zeltbahn either across back of the belt or high straped to the rear loops on Y straps.
Gas mask Tin??
Strap over right shoulder, hook goes up under belt like the B/bag centre strap.
The belt buckle should be over your navel or there abouts, belt hooks really help.

Oh, one more thing - I know it's been said before, but how is the Zelt folded?

Kav, I personally lay the Zelt out, fold the point down to the long side and button it along the sides, to get the "smock" shape. (There's a diagram on here somewhere.) That way, it's ready for use. Then, just fold it till it's about a foot wide and roll it up.

And pic 3 is where you do the buttons up, to form the smock. :)

This any help dude

The only thing i know is a bit off is the k98 bayonet with mp40 pouches but it was occasionally done if not commonplace.

Other thing is i thread the 'a frame' retaining straps onto the belt to stop them flapping about and coming loose.

Cheers Gadge, that'll help me tonight when I put it all together. The only thing I'm unsure about is the Y-straps hooking on to the belt; it looks to me like they could come loose if you're running around. Maybe it'll become a bit clearer when I have it all in front of me.

Kav once the y-straps are in place you've got no worries - best thing i found was get the belt and kit on round your waist, then throw the y-strap over u'r shoulders secure the rear strap then hook up the front one's to the mag pouches

Well, put it together when I got home from work and I think it looks OK. Just need to get the repro E-tool carrier off Chris (DG1) and a waterbottle (which I should get off warren tomorrow), and I'm away.

A few things bothering me; I've attached my zelt to the shoulder D-rings like in gadge's pic, but it seems to sit too high. Is there any other way of attaching it which is 'period'? Also, I can't get my melon round how to wear the gas mask can, no idea how to do it? :slap:
