Trick question?
Why would it be a trick question?
I'd ask on Pst! There are some guys who do/did HG Div.

also here's a kit-list from one of the re-enactment groups found on PST! Forum,
Heh, I thought Steiner was teasing as he asked what SS camo HGD wore
Type 1 Plane Tree smocks and Helmet covers. Only issued to *very* limited elements of the HG Division, and replaced pretty damn quickly with the usual LW FD Camo jacket.
When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
SS camo zelts were not uncommon across the whole FD structure, though. Still, wouldn't catch me in it - Splinter all the way!

...but of course, I might be portraying a *very* limited element....!
Anyway, it's on the cover of the Osprey book, so it must be true!

must be true then
There's a really good illustration in the militaria histoire and collections book on german soldiers showing a HG guy in lufty blues and early pattern ss smock.
But if the rule is no ss camo then its time to dig out the feldgrau guys!
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Is it kit for Husky you are thinking of Andy?
By then HGD was a Panzer Div - blues, feldgrau, tropicals or black would be fine, splinter smocks/zelts if you want camo.

I have that book if Herr Steiner wants a scan - can do that in the morning?

Not necessarily Husky....
Certain elements were issued it in 42 for North Africa and Italy. By 43 they were reissued with splittertarn. Apart from a few rogue elements, who also wore their hair long....
