AKA the German Cross

In a hobby where every other German awards themselves the EK1 I don't think I've ever seen this award being worn by re-enactors. I always thought it was a political thing but a bit of half-arsed internet research suggests that it's simply another award for bravery and, apart from having a great big swastika on it, has no unsavoury connotations attached to it.

Am I missing something?

i only recently found out that Heer Soldaten were proscribed from belonging to the Party or its affiliated organisations.

it was an award like many others ...to win it you first had to hold the EK1, and it was below the knights cross. My bling uniform ( which is a replica of Wilhelm Monkhes) has a fried egg on it . :good: It's an officer's rather than a EM thing I suspect as well .
The currently replica knocking around are all pretty low quality , apart from morigi's very expensive one .
