Hey Guys,
Im gonna do a bit of research into the what kind of german kit id like to get in future. I have a mental picture in my head of course but i think a book is needed.
Ive been looking at the osprey books on the waffen ss and heer stuff, but there seems to be 5 or 6 books in a series. I just want one that gives good detailed descriptions and pictures preferably colour pics/illustrations on the overall look and feel. Im not interested in eastern front stuff more normandy and slightly beyond.
Can anyway recommend me a book, even if its not an osprey one.
Well, Osprey ones tend to focus on one type of soldier - i.e. Fallschirmjager or Heer or SS. What impression are you thinking of? "The Armed Forces of World War II" by Mollo covers everything!

Hi,
unfortunately there isn't a one stop book for uniforms - rather a collection of various reference books.
However - German Soldiers Of World War Two by Jean de Largarde ISBN 2-915239-35-5 is quite good.
It's modern colour photo's of German uniforms and kit from 1939 - 1945.
If there's anything in particular your thinking about doing as an impression, let me know - I can send you pics/info if you wish.
I think the look im after in Panzer grenadier/Infantry, but a veteran of war.
2 books i use a lot and both in colour are-
