This was the view seen from the Dom.
The yellow arrow is the Panther, obviously.
The blue arrow points to the McDonalds that is there now.
The red arrow points to the visitors and information center.
Next time you visit Köln you can find the exact spot.
You can see in the photos it's the same tank, look at the holes where the 90mm shells went in.

What I find amazing is that in the middle of a tank battle, with men literally dying in front of him, the cameraman still pans away for the "beauty shot" of the cathedral spires
Presumably witnessing this sort of thing wasn't particularly out of the ordinary.
