I've sewn my badges on after pining them, they aint coming off....

although im a little worried that the close combat bar will catch on my y straps.

Yes, funny isn't it. The real soldiers managed to fight with the bling and theirs didn't fall off/break/get lost every 30 seconds!

I have tied all my bling (and buttons) on with clear fishing line - high breaking strain and you can't see it from 3 foot away. Worked so far...

It does , if you keep the straps wide then it tends ot get avoided , only to be caught by your gasmak strap .

The tunics looking spot on !

Get a piece of plastic or stiff leather to use as a backing next time and stuff it behind the badge inside your pockt behind the pin. Helps keep the badge in place and stops it flapping about

I used field grey thread to just stick the hook end and pin in to the tunic.

Its pretty firm stuff but i may well use stubblehoppers idea as the army parachute badge rocks from side to side a bit.

I used thread the colour of the badge to sew my badges ont my M40 Tunic, Silver for Panzer Assault, Black for Wound etc, but TBH Im considering Putting the Y straps over the badges, mind I dont have that many anyway.
Panzer Assault &/or General Assault Wound badge, Panzer Destuction and the russian front medal ribbon. all of wich I am KIND OF eligeble for through re-enacting.

UK had suprising ammount of badges for battledress as well.

Once you start getting

regiment, dividsional flash, rank, trade badge, long service chevrons, arm of service strip and lanyard it can be just as impressive.

My South Staffs airborne BD has almost as much insginia as my german one..

South staffs flashes
Pegagsus
Airborne tabs
Glider patch
Rank pips

Line Inf Corpral, with service stripes would have an arm full. From top Down
Regimental Titles
ARm of service strip
Divisional Patch
Rank
Service stripes
Qualification - Say Driver and MMG

You can see why the war office said no insignia execpt rank to be warn over sees.

You'll get a lot more of that in the regs.

Trophy cap badges/mottos and all that....

apparently para ones are the easiest to get in a fight...
:)
