I'm hopefully gonna be able to buy some insignias for my Lutfy tunic. I've a rough idea where the insignas are ment to go

Problem is the tunic doesn't have any loops on the shoulder for the shoulder boards to go on, has the button.

Looking for any advise that can be given to solve this problem

Thanks
JD

Unusual - where did you get it from? Anyway, I can only suggest making your own loops and sewing them on. I couldn't sew before I started this hobby - I can now! :D

Got it from SoF

Have an idea, to buy 2 pairs of shoulder boards and to use one pair to make the loops

Send it back, or phone them and ask what they intend to do about this sub-standard tunic they have sent you.

I agree with Poacher, ring them up and explain whats wrong with the item and ask them what they're prepared to do to rectify it, I've had a few problems with items from SOF but they've always sorted it out without fuss to my satisfaction.

Will echo the same. Contact Epic to sort it out. Alwaus had excellent customer experience dealing with them.

Why would Epic fix a problem for SoF?

I honestly would not know  That post is testament to why I should not work and post to forums at the same time. Happily ignore me, carry on :slap:

I'll give em a call in the morning if I remeber. Insigs have been ordered, might end up that I'd just don't want to wait, I can be very impatient sometimes (This is one of those times :slap:)

OTOH it is really very easy to make up a couple of shoulder board loops, on my ex-Swedish greatcoat I just cut two thin strips of the pre-edged jacket liner out and made them out of that.

If feeling lazy, you could always just safety pin the boards on and fold the shoulder boards over the pin so it doesn't show

Is this a Fliegerbluse or an LFD jacket? iirc the LFD jackets don't have shoulder board loops (some do have sewn on shoulder straps though).

Cheers
Martin

If it's an officers tunic they often had sewn in shoulder boards so there might be no loops?

Tunic shown in photo looks like it has the shoulder boards sewn into seams as Poacher said...

Not sure the Luftwaffe ever had a tunic cut like that?
Their tuchrock was cut with 'open' lapels?

If the SoF tunic were field grey it would be very close to the KM coastal arty cut.
Not sure what to say beyond that, cover it with a smock and you will be ok?

Hmmm not looking to do an officer impression

Took a photo off the tunic, looks abit different from the photo on the SoF website. Plan is to wear it under my splinter smock but would like it to look the part for socals/inbetween games-- attachment is not available --

The enlisted and officer tuchrock are the same cut, just better quality cloth for officers.
It still should not button up to the throat.

Waffenrocks can button up to the throat but they normally have pleated pockets and french cuffs. That SoF offering is a strange beast indeed.

Could this tunic not pass for a Fliegerbluse?

As a fliegerbluse I'd say no, they're a very different cut. You could remove the top pockets and it would be somewhat similar but the exposed buttons and collar would give it away. It could pass for some sort of private purchase Waffenrock though.
