will colt .45 automatic fit in either luger or p38 hardshell holsters? as this would save me buying a second pistol for ww2 and as pistols weren't generally issued to enlisted chaps i think a trophy .45 would be ok just hope it fits in german holster.

No an M1911 will not fit in either german holster - due to the physical dimensions of all 3 pistols.
