today the postman brought my 1910 t handle shovel and gloves,,, thats it now no more.
I carry my Thompson mags in a 5 cell mag pouch on my waist, been looking for another because apparently it's inaccurate (used by the 503rd not the 506th) because it stores them the wrong way round.
Who Cares, carry it the way you feel most comfortable with! I think you'll find that most people who had the 5 cell pouch would have had 20 round magazines in them, rather than the long 30 round mags. I have only ever seen pictures of Marines with the 30 round mags sticking out of the top of the pouch. Hey-ho, why don't you get a Thompson mag bag, more 506th if thats what look you're after. Failing that get the 20 round magazines (190round airsoft mags)

Well.... at least until next payday... it's the curse of a WW2 US Paratrooper reenactor, you can never have too much kit. Ive been collecting for 5 years and still going ![]()
Crickets are good, I keep mine in my throat pocket, used it to get Heather's attention at Churchills when she went wandering off!
Gloves... paras took em off as soon as they landed dude, but you could have em shoved in your waist band as I'm sure they wont have wanted to have got rid of em. How about a belt full of rigger pouches with TNT like some1 said before, grenades etc etc... remember paratroopers carried enough gear to sustain them for days until releaved, so they would have been bursting at the seams with stuff.

*NEWS FLASH* my mate george at jay jays surplus sheffield has just got hold of 5 ww2 us 1936 pistol belts, price not fixed yet but i will find out, these are stamped brithish made. i got one that leaves 4, i will get the price off him and let you know.webby, the gloves are staying on mate, got 3 point blankers on the hands once at pheonix urban and nearly cried lol lol lol lol .
I thought about getting a cricket too, It would make getting someones attention a lot easier, just make sure you don't get fooled by the old Kar 98's bolt action trick
(name the film lol)

Cricket is my next purchase me thinks then I'll think about the rigger pouches.
No not a real radio, Gunman (Josh) has some awesome Radios built in to old Radio/backpacks. Lightweight but really cool.
And I'm at Edge Hill.

Looks awesome dude, what does the 'E' represent on your helmet?

I guess its Engineer because R stands for Recon.
Yes indeed the " -E " symbol indicates C Company, 326th Airborne Engineer Battalion. Combat Engineers of the 326th were spread throughout the infantry regiments of the 101st.

Hehe, I was in Normandy too in 2004, we were camped out at Camping de Omaha Beach.
The place was packed with re-enactors back then, we probably passed each other a couple of times
going up and down the coast to see al the museums and historic locations ![]()

It was bloody hot wasn't it?! We stayed at Le Cormoran camp site at Ravenoville-Plage. We spent the week out and about in the Jeeps and the Duece & a half exploring all the famous locations and meeting veterans, it was fantastic. I'd love to be out there this next week or so, there's another event at Dead Man's Corner in association with Michel de Trez and the museum, both my mates in the front of the Jeep in that last pic will be there again. I am sadly lacking funds however.

We'll probably be back in Normandy in 2009 with our group, if it doesn't get in the way of the Genk/Maastricht tour with Shady's lot.
