It's becoming a real pain in the Arse that most re-enactment events seem to be based around the M25 or further south. Are there any airsoft events based further North???? Don't mean as far north as Teesside but even something around Sheffield I'd class as local in comparrison. Itching to get my kit out and given the fact I'll soon be the happy owner of an MP40 and 44 I woundered if there was something to look forward to.
That is if I'd be allowed to join and come out and play with you guys.

Higher, higher. Still a fair old treck.
There'll be Op Ariel in Wakefield.
Battle for St Lo (June) is in Leicester.
Operation Aerial (July) is in Wakefield - is that 'North' enough?
Event calendar is here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1868
Heh, most complaints are from those down south who say all events are up North!
Would definatley class Wakefield as 'North' enough.
lol, every CiA / PBI event I've been to - bar one - has been at least 3-4 hours' away!
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
I'm with Andy on this, I've only been to 2 events south of the M25 and 1 event within an hours drive, (I'm in Essex by the way)
Travel distance has been an issue for many people but we cope.
Closest game so far was lightning at a mere 2 1/2 hours by Land Rover. You can always stay over.
I'm in Portland ,both of the last 2 events ( RTC and Lightning) have involved a 4 hour drive and 50 quids worth of petrol.

. Seems airsofting and re-enacting are opposites. If events are 4-5 hours away then it would normally mean a weekend away. Means the mem shab gets stuck at home with the kids again while I'm off having fun. If it's "up North" it means I can jump in the car, travel to an event, have a great time and come home. Going away for the weekend is a bit of a struggle when the kids are only 5 and 2. Weekends can have that 'Ground Hog' feeling. Probably wouldn't be such an issue when they are older.
Its much easier to say "I'm going out for the day" rather than "I'm going away for the weekend". In much the same way as saying that new bit of kit only cost a fiver off a friend as opposed to £50.00 of the net
