Hey guys, I just received a bulk order of kit second hand off of ebay, in amongst the usual bits and pieces was this box:
I'm guessing that the presence off what used to be the pills means that this is an original, I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me more about it as it something of an odddity (for me at least)

Losantin was an anti gas substance that you rubbed onto your skin to protect against mustard gas burns. Here is a link that describes how a Landser is supposed to use the kit

It seems awfully complicated for someone who would be suffering from agonizing skin blister, even assuming that they weren't already blinded or drowning in their own lung fluid.

Interesting link, and yeah, reading that did make me think that its an awfully complex procedure for you to be carrying out in that situation!
Any idea of the rarity of these as a quick flick around the internet offered none for sale 
They are an unusual find with the label intact. European dealers once upon a time sold them in lots of 6 or so without the label.
The little orange bottles are around too. They are also often missing the label. I've never seen the little box for the orange bottle....

My ressie case came with a ressie, spare prescription lens and a bakolite case of this stuff the same as yours (label worn off). Mine had solidified into a sort of damp powder.
