Simple - What about starting "A Campaign"?
Say 2011 - start with
event 1 - Invasion of Poland.
Event 2 - The Low Countries
Event 3 Fall of France
Event 4 - Greece/Balkans
Event 6 - North Africa
Event 7 - Barbasossa
Event 8 - Italy
Event 9 - Normandie
Event 10 Gustav Line or Anzio
Event 11 Defence of The Reich (Siegfried Line)
Event 12 Fall of Berlin
Just suggestions but do you catch my drift?
and perhaps 6 major operations as opposed to one a month!!!!!!
But does it sound appealing? Do a timelined year of events? Something for everyone as it were

Think apart from a pair of low boots(maybe FJ boots also, but this isn't re-enactment), I've enough kit to attend all events in some way, shape or form - in principle.
looking for low boots for crimbo.
At an average of three to four games a year. You may have to stretch it out over 3 years
theres nowt so Permanent as temporary
Hands up all those with a Polish 39 uniform?
No Smilie... OK, do a dance rather than hands up
so U'r going down in a month or so? short career - so to speak.
Please not this has absolutely no disrespect to the fallen. Comment made on a purely event basis.

that sounds abit re-enactorish - time line I was thinking
Hang on Delboy - You may have something there...... Start in 2011 - go through to 2017 - mimc 39-45 - You could EVEN start in the correct month and synchronise the events.......... mmmmmmmmm (why isn't there a "rubbing the chin" smiley?)

Prolly cause we do the finest cufftitles in the world
Well, in a sense Gunman has been there - with sequential scenarios running in sequence from D-Day onwards.
However, practically speaking if one accepts the premise that the location has to fit the event then logistically it becomes tricky. If you just do a game in a wood and call it 'The Fall of Berlin' then its easy peasy. But I wouldn't want to go to it! By the end of 2010 there should be enough players with outfits to cover some of that range of scenarios just about but I would have to ask why go to the trouble of a sequence. By the end of 2010 there will have been scenarios around 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 (what happened to 5?!).
CiA's approach is find great sites and match a scenario to them and if at all possible do it at the correct time of year. We are then enthused and motivated and not just doing it because its the next on the list! But my over-riding concern is getting players to buy more and more kit when in reality we should now be capitalising on what chaps have got already. There is sooo much to go on with what we will have by the end of June 2010!
Why does reality always have to kick in and spoil good ideas? Don't people dream any more?
And I left five out due to pyro training - It is easily confused with "fire"!!!!

i'd like to see more games that are named a certain battle be on terrain that the actual battle was faught, like with gunmans battle for caen being in an urban village, suitable and a good site which would suit the game nicely.
Now a 'namsofter. I have an M72 L.A.W. for sale for 110 posted, PM if interested.
I think that we've diversified WW2 airsoft enough for now, what with an early war event and the up and coming Eastern Front and North Africa goings on. I think 2010 should be a period of consolidation, with players able to use the gear that they already have, or are in the process of getting, without having to go to the expense of buying any more.
There's also a lot of groups running events now, so, clogging the calendar with even more will spread the butter on the toast a bit too thinly. CiA don't have the time or resources to do any more than we already do. Quality over quantity is the key.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

I hardly think CiA will be doing a Battle of Britain game soon and hiring the white cliffs for example. Like Heide has mentioned, CiA games are about quality. Think also that CiA also don't run games for profit - so booking an M.O.D site. for example may be beyond the 'money-coming-in' opportunities that may be found elsewhere.
Mind you, I have wondered if someone out there would do a WWI event - two fields, two trench systems and a football for lunchtime? Couldn't be that expensive to put on.
We got close with the white cliffs of Portsmouth but that I suppose is closer to D-Day than Battle of Britain.
Anyhoo, I got the distinct impression that PD was offering to organise the timeline events? In which case, if I have the kit I'll turn up!
I think a timeline series of games would be a good idea. There are going to be many smaller games being run by independant sites, catering for those that are within reasonably easy driving distance, but a few "Timeline" larger scale events a year might be something we could all work towards. From what I understand PD is talking about starting this, the year after next, so it's not like there's a pressure in time to rush out and buy kit. Just my tuppence worth.
Yes, carry on PD. You organise it, I'll play it!

If these events come into fruition, I'll attend.
I think a "timeline" of Russian Front events could potentially be good. We've got Boryszyn in January and the level of support for the Soviet side has been phenomenal. Once people have the kit for it, they'll be itching for the chance to use it as much as practicable. It gives scope for a full 4 years worth of the war gaming wise as well, with the ebb and flow of the Eastern Front, from the start of Barbarossa, all the way to the doors of the Fuhrer Bunker itself.

Heh, I can see it now - lardy and co rambling through the rubble advancing through Berlin - Kermit & Guy drowning their sorrows, thoughts of captivity with bottles from the D&B wine cellar and Steiner in his pencil skirt taking 'final orders'
