Denison just arrived from Sanjay so I celebrated by also buying an FN FAL coz I seem to use my Tommy all the time and fancy doing a post war jungle / desert load out next. It can't be WW2 every day...

Another reproduction from Joe Weingarten ( http://www.1903.com )

A 94th Aero Squadron insignia in Sterling Silver.

The originals were cast from melted silver coins (hence the '800' mark on the back)

DO NOT USE IT UNTIL IT HAS BEEN SERVICED! (unless you like 8 foot flames shooting out the side of it  )

Give me a shout if you want it done, i've rebuilt quite a few ARARA's, Juwels', Svea's and Meva petrol bombs, sorry, stoves over the last year.

thanks for the info Kermit, I had read on the spiritburner forum about the pressure testing etc you have carried out.

It's winging it's way from Deutschland so once i have it in my hands, I'll let you know.

Many Thanks

I've rebuilt quite a few ARARA's, Juwels', Svea's and Meva petrol bombs, sorry, stoves over the last year.

I've done some Coleman stoves and lanterns. They can be absolutely deadly if unserviced or handled by untrained hands.

One friend of mine nearly burned his garage down with a M56 model stove. He had some burns on his hand from when he picked it up and threw it on the grass outside after it had started leaking burning gasoline everywhere.

Another friend had a Coleman 242A lantern but as soon as he pressurized it the spirit started spraying from pinholes in the rusty tank. Thankfully he was smart enough not to light it.

I helped a friend take his M1941 apart last friday, replacing the generator filter, reconditioning the pump leather and cleaning the Fuel-Air Rod. After reassembling it he lost pressure because he had a bad gasket in the fuel tank cap. When he lit it up a nice little flame shot from the hole in the cap where the pressure was blowing out the vapour.
Luckily we could blow it out before worse damage was done

I guess the test is to pressurise them with no spirit in them first and listen for leaks?
