US leggings from Andy W, large rigger pouches from Scaleyback, Garand belt from Marsha (mondo thanks for this). My USMC impression just needs a waterbottle set and the Airborne is only lacking the shell dressing! 8)

Luftwaffe sleeve rank eagles - free from Boshman.

Army infantry officer's collar tabs, and Luftwaffe litzen from regaliaspecialist - less than 24 hours from ordering to my door - excellent service as ever.

Now, how the heck do you sew on litzen?? :?

With a sewing machine only, otherwise you'll have a thumb with the colour and texture of an orange.

You'll find in the B L Davies books (LW Prts 1&2) the correct placement on the collar etc.

pin and then sewing machine your best bet. Helga if available may provide additional info on the required stitch type.

Now have

M42 Jumpsuit (with arm pockets and 101st shoulder badge - need attaching)
M1936 belt and suspenders (with felt pads)
Thompson Mag Bag (might get a second)
Musette Bag
1st Aid pouch and 1st Aid pack
2 x small rigger pouches
Helmet net (large netting)
506 helmet insignia
Para Helmet A frames and leather chin strap
M3 knife & scabbard (with leg strap)
Water bottle & carrier
Boots (British High Leg DMS that I'm in the process of making brown!)

Thompson and helmet should arrive this week, so will post some pictures when I've got it all sorted. Just need to make it look a little 'lived in' first.

Bought on Sunday at a car-boot in Cambridge, a 1944 dated (R.Burns Ltd manufactured) British army Bergan rucksack. Rather than the frameless Commando style, it's the framed 'mountaineer' version as seen (similar) on pages 56 & 57 of "The World War II Tommy" by Brayley and Ingram. My one, though, as they are constructed in the same style canvass and trim as US web equipment, is the slightly earlier one; tan in colour with green trim (as opposed to the later green with tan trim as seen in the book) and with green-dyed leather straps on the frame, not plain/tan straps shown. The metal frame is in really rather good nick.

It needs a little bit of a clean, but does anyone know how much these are worth? I'm happy to keep it, but if anyone desperately wants one, I'm willing to sell it on to a good home.

Just bought "The World War II G.I. - World War II US Army Uniforms 1941-45 in Colour Photographs" by Richard Windrow, Tim Hawkins from amazon.co.uk

Worked out cheaper than buying from SOF at £14.64 including P&P.

Helmet arrived today - its post war and needs some work to make it a para version, but I have all the bits (I hope) ready.

Can anyone give me any advice before I have a go and wreck it?
