Usually the liner is about the only thing with a date on it.
They sometimes have a date on the lugs that secure the chinstrap.
One of mine has 1938 stamped on each one.

Does anyone know how to date these helmets? ^^^
Mine is in a pretty rusty state and I cant see any markings?
Most if not all MKII shells should have either a date,makers stamp or both on them.Sometimes not very well stamped or covered in layers of paint but it should be there somewhere
