Vintage Edelweiss pipe and alpine tunic
Very nice Tim and ideal for 'Singalong Sound of Music'. I turned up to one of those in German uniform once (my wife was in her Nuns outfit), it was quite funny being booed by several thousand people during the costume parade
Cheers

Whatever colour DAK stuff is - it varied greatly, you know - from dark tan to very pale.
Aye it wasn't a serious comment. Even the colour of Dunkelgelb itself varied wildly so who can say what is right really.
Got the bits needed for B.E.F for Copenhagen, consisting of early war dates MkVI Gas Mask Bag, Hessian Helmet cover, Gas Brassard (which looks delicate, so I might back it with faux leather of cuts to stop bb's ripping it to shreds) and a skeleton Water Bottle Holder.
Also Acquired a few bits of metal and tubing that shall become the tripod and muzzle cone of my Vickers, ahhhh the joys of payday!
the Blur-y selfie - Never quite learned how to do them, and nor to I find that a shortcoming.
(oh, it is the hat that is all 'latest')
You are wearing a splendid floppy hat yet you look so cross. Hats should make you happy else what's the point?
It is because I am doing one of those "selfies" the kids talk about - and I had to concentrate really hard on doing it.
I have had more cig breaks than normal today, just because I like the excuse to wear the hat. Truly, it does make my most very happy.
Now I also got a helmet, but as yet it is just a normal boring helmet. No point photo-ing that until it gets its feathers attached.
and I had to really hard on doing it.
and I had to really hard on doing it.
CONCENTRATE on.. how did it miss that word?
Of course wearing the hat did give me an erection, but that is not the kind of information to share on a forum.
Doh!

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......

Having got the gas cape bag thingy, I sort of had to get one of these too:
Well I enjoyed sewing all the badges on and adjusting the inner braces!
Sorted for Operation Copenhagen, a game several months away....

Absolutely marvellous, Martin!

Not so much an acquisition, made some suspension clips for some French Mle 1935 water bottle straps today:
ooo, they are lovely - mr makey man.
Absolutely marvellous, Martin!
Well, maybe, I am now in the world of 'too many jackets'. It is just so smart though, and a fairly greenish feldgrau shade so hopefully I'll get a bit of a contrast going with my grey trousers. I'll go with my late war shabby jacket for Foy though.

Ooooooooooooooooooooo! Nice. You spoil yourself ambassador. Little bit jealous.
And Craig (Wladek)... Nice beard!
hi gents, not been to any events or even online for a long time due to work and life etc, just recently purchased this picture, you may have all seen it before. For some very strange reason this picture fasinated me, i thinks it because rather than seeing German troops, i see three men. the picture doesnt tell me anything about their unit or where it was taken, but seeing as you lot are far more knowledgable and informed you might see something i didnt.
Now a quick question as i dont want to do two posts - K98, the "stained" stock, a kind of dark walnut were these Russian converted stocks, if so what colour should the stock be, all pictures are in black and white so i cant tell.
thanks

Just bought this to improve my British Airbourne gear.
Would I be correct in thinking its a RAC helmet?
