Just aquired this little beauty off ebay, great for all your home comforts when occupying your defensive position

" Achtung , is that the 1st Battalion the 3rd Bersaglieri regiment?"

"Nien we do not want re-enforcements ....but vere is der goddam Quattro Formagio I ordered ??"

We have great fun with the field phones at Wotan .

I've had some good results with some 400 ISO film in those brownies Frau Geerhart. Anything with a lower ISO-rating will be under-exposed unless you're in/on the desert/snow/ocean in very bright sunlight. ;)

The red window at the back should be kept out of the sun, or covered up (with some tape) it tends to fog the film a bit. Film back then was not sensitive to red light, modern film is. You still need it to advance the film to the right number though.

The Agfa can probably handle lower ISO film better.

Both have Meniscus lenses. These have a high depth of field as it's called. It means anything over a distance of 5 feet will be sharp on your photo. So don't bother doing close-ups with them. ;)

Thanks Herr Flibster :D I've spotted that I can get the 120 films relatively cheaply (not sure on development as I've emailed a few local and one national place to see what they charge ;) ) and then when they arrive I shall take the kids off to a local stately home and do some practise shots at varying distances so I can see how they measure up. Good tip on the ISO, and I shall bear that in mind when purchasing film 8) oo I haven't bought anything for ages, forgot what it was like .... which means its lead me on a hunt for some other things  though am watching ebay atm  or is that frantically searching for something on ebay

Arrived just in time for D-Day, M36 Sturm-made greatcoat, just the job for strutting about on Friday and Saturday night!

(I'm hoping it won't be needed during the day  )

Unhemmed. Buttons look well sewn although I always use fishing line to secure them - just in case...

I just 'won' an US M1917 Helmet, the American copy of the British Brody Helmet. It's marked RIA 1918. It requires a new liner and chinstrap (I'll get those from http://www.schipperfabrik.com ) but it will make my USAS uniform more flexible...I want to be able to switch between USAS and Doughboy if necessary ;)

Does "doughboy" imply one day you may come and play out with us riffraff ? 8)

I didn't think there was a WW1 Airsoft group? ;)
But who knows. If I ever plan a long holiday in the UK I might as well play some games or visit other events. ..and it would depend on what I could stuff in my suitcase of course...and I'd need to rent a gun.

I'll be in London for the ATEI/ICE convention in January, by the way.

Yeah Flib. I very much doubt you'll have to rent a gun. Plenty of people here would lend you something, myself included :)

ATEI is Arcade and Gambling machines. I have to visit the convention for my job. Don't really want to though. Been there for the last 2 years and it's an absolute drag...so if you could plan that hijack I'd be ever so greatful ;)

Now all I need for my USAS uniform:
Knee-high, Lace-up brown leather boots (something simular to the M1918 Cavalry boot)
Sam Browne Belt
Collar Insignia (2x U.S. and 2x USAS Branch of service)
3 Rank Bars (coffin lid style of either a 2nd or 1st Luitenant)

For the doughboy kit I need a lot more gear.

What dates are you here for?
