i got one of those exactly the same, it lasted one event before the latch broke and the cover fell off. 
That would explains the price

I've got one and its still working fine. Its been airsofting through CR in the rain and rivers, its done the tunnels and a training day as well as a 3 reenactment events and amazingly it still works and hasn't broken
Not sure how its survived really but its always been on a fob chain and in a pocket 
so I thought not bad for a fiver
