my xmas present. a thompson from RSOV. came in 3 days and without being stopped by customs

nice! :)

just opened it before having it hid for xmas :P

seems that not only did it get through tnt and customs without them batting a eyelid

BUT it also came with the proper cybergay sprayed on thompson trades. Not sure if this is a new trend and the chinese arent bothering to remove em like they were before, and I know they are only sprayed on, but it adds to the look

That's beautiful! Where'd you get the kit?

Just received my M47 greatcoat from Surplus and Adventure. Size perfect, great condition and with brass buttons!

How much was the M47 greatcoat and how long did it take to get to you?

I managed to track one down at Den Trinity, hong kong, not particularly cheap but well worth it. now my thopmson is even heavier I'm not looking forward to another long trudge through the sand dunes at candleston!
I will be looking at one of the rsov wood kits tonight on Waylander64's thompson to see if I can get a decent finish out of it, I think from what I know of the ak furniture kits, that the rsov wood is a fairly cruddy soft wood and has been finished with some horrible reddish woodstain. I'll give it a go though.

My War-time Kodak family with their 'youngest' addition (front left, Kodak "PH-324")

I got the PH-324 for a very reasonable price, considering they're going for at least 350 UKP these days. I bought mine at a live-auction for $125.

I've cleaned the lens, used some gun oil on the small joints in the pop-up viewfinder to get it to pop-up again. some more use of grease on the bigger components and I gave the shutter some exercise to get the dried out grease out of the mechanism. The only thing I didn't dare touch was the self-timer...as these are kinda notorious on the Diomatic shutters

:D

which is why I spent stupid money to get myself quality wood! (then smashed the crap out of it with my old favorite- the drawstring bag full of loose change) the cheapo nasty wood kits from rsov would have literally ended up as matchwood if I even so much as rattled a bag of coppers at them!
I will try to make a rsov wood kit look less balsa than they do and will take a few piccies of the progress (or lack of!)

Size 5. I don't want to crow too much, since I know a lot of people want one.
