I've got two events coming up this weekend...

Crich on Sunday when I'm going in full South Staffords kit, and a trip to F&O on Saturday.

Since I want to keep my WW2 kit in top notch condition for Sunday and I'll not have time to wash it if it gets dirty, then I'll be using my modern kit for the first time since December. ARGH!!!!

I pulled it out of the cupboard and was shocked at how complex it was for such a small amount of kit. British 37pat just seems so much simpler! Sure gaiters are a right bugger to fit, but at least you don't have the ball-ache that is Molle!

Has anyone else experienced this?

Dream on  , try getting into German webbing and gasmask etc . Pulling on a set of PLCE webbing is a lot easier, at least it sticks together .

i agree yith, i play about 95% of the time in my WW2 kit, mutch easyer to get on and off,
2 big ammo pouches is better than 15 ;) on a tack vest,
good old 37 pat :)

played in my SA vest thats about 15 years old and keep't forgetting were i,d stored things and thats a good bit of kit,
suppose you just get used to what you use reg,

The benefit of old gear over MOLLE? Easy. You dont spend 4 hrs the night before a skirmish reorganising where all the bloody pouches are!

I just prefer 37 anyway, Cheeper, Nicers to lookafter and strips down into reletivly small parcels. As for my old m16/203, Since It went I havent touched a modern gun until baldrick made me fondle his star L85.

Never bought MOLLE never will,

the day i saw it , i just said to me , " EVERY WANNABE DELTA/SAS TURDS GONNA BUY ME"

so i bought a chicom rig instead, and my black viper 29 quid cheapo tac vest, cos it looks slightly like a suicide rig.

im sure in "the real deal" of combat MOLLES great,
but at airsoft , its a fasion accesory/cock extension

The biggest problem with MOLLE is the old "oh, its only another pouch, i'll buy it anyway". And before you know it, you're drowning in pouches. When I was into "modern" USSF gear, i had an entire filing cabinet full of MOLLE pouches and rigs. Now, ALL my jerry belt order fits into one draw :)

I agree, I was using a SA Vest until recently. Great vest but too many pouches for me.(NOT)

BTW One of the guys that were protesting about those cartoons last year wore one, in fromt of armed police? Allready out on license? he should have been slotted, as he was a threat wit the vest on pretending to be a fundamentalist suicide bomber.

Most modern webbing I've got is 58 pat which I've used for years never had a problem with it (other than finding a SLR to go with it). I've used a few different modern tac vests with drop leg holsters and all the rest but got either fustrated or annoyed with them for one reason or another. Theres alot to be said for keeping your loadout simple.
