As you may know I have a jeep I would like to use in airsoft games in some way.
http://propaholics.wolfchasers.com/uplo ... 30cal4.jpg
However the problem is I also want to keep it in good condition!
BB's will strip off the paint especially at close range.

So other than just using it for photo shoots at events how can it get into game play?

You probably just think my idea is a load of balls but here it is!

I have 2 thoughts on this.

1 The jeep can be taken out of the game by indirect fire, if the enemy captures or just hits a target than the jeep is designated destroyed and all personnel within dead.

2 The enemy are equipped with dummy grenades (red rubber balls) or have to capture an ammo box of them. Then a direct hit into the rear of the jeep that stays in the jeep is a kill.

Obviously the location the jeep / vehicle is patrolling would have to be considered carefully and speeds must be kept to a minimum for safety.

I do have an argo cat that I would have no problem in getting shot at but it's unlikely it will be at any events at least this year.

i,v got a mock up of a US bazoka, that we could lend to the germans,
i,m hunting down some cheep lazer quest type of guns to strip and fit inside,
then with the reflectors that the enemy person would were, we could fit to the jeep, ( or 1/2 track up hear)
when the beeps go, its blown up :)

better than getting it all shot up ;)

Doh, I think I may have mislead you mate. I seem to remember some guns aimed at kids in the toy section but they might have been pulled.

The other option is paintball bazooka's, 3 hits on the wheel and you are out of teh game for 3 mins, but only the bazooka can aim at the mv, and thats all the bazooka can aim at, otherwise iots instant kick off the site.

Or make the vehicles and the people in them invulnerable to fire and disallow people using them as cover.

That may not be as much fun, but there should be less bbs fired at them!

we,v talked about paint befor but i,m not that happy about that shite flying about etc, think we,l go for the lazers first and see how they work out,

we,l try it on site and then see about bringing it down,

i could allso add a shild thingy to the bazoka to make if look a little more like the german equivalant

on the paint issue, its wrong i know. BUT

on some skirmish days when people havent taken hits on several occasions ive muzzle loaded a 6mm paint on to a bb in the hop and "HIT" the person .

once i got 3 paint "HITs" on the same guy and youll never guess what happend,...........

wait for it ................................

he denyed being hit, at which point i pointed out the 3 "splats" , which nearly resulted in a kick off.

the anger seemed to be more about the fact id hit him than the paint

so any paint at airsoft is a bad idea (especialy when a

I use my LR at a lot of airsoft event in game, and also organise vehicles for use at events like Town Assualt.
BBs by themselves are very unlikely to do any major damage. The will not break glass, and only at very close range will they result in a little lost paint. The worst is pyros, with people getting over keen and trying to throw them under the vehicles .
Normally say that you can use a soft skinned vehicle as static cover, but not as a moving blockade .
Vehicles can be "taken out" by a pyro landing within 5 m .

TBH the biggest risk is the driver runing someone over , rather than the risk to the vehicle. Perhaps talk more at Arnhem .

I would have thought they would cause more damage to paint, as I have a plastic dustbin in my garden that has a number of holes in it from airsofts snipers and gas pistols.
Anything at 400 fps will make a hole in it as a rule of thumb!

I also have an aluminium garage door with lots of dents in it from my TM M1A1 when it was stock 285fps, I had to repaint the door but that was at 15ft and only 1.5mm aluminium.

At 15 ft my stock VFC AKSU will leave 3mm deep impressions in plaster.

Also the body on my jeep is all galvanised steel which I didn't paint myself and I don't think a good etch primer was used.
I agree glass is no problem.
I will have to do some tests some time!

I have shattered a car rear passenger window with a g3 shooting at 340 fps .20 bb

i did it at LFU, a guy claimed his sniper rifle was 328 fps and he "popped" a car window, chrono check was 328

my g3 chronoed at 340 and also "popped" a cars side window

if the windows fully closed your ok.

IF its wound down half way and you hit it near the top in the middle ,

IT WILL SHATTER

ODDBALL, check the thickness of you glass, compared to todays glass, i think ww2 glass may be thicker, but check.
