Having looked at many sites re enactment etc they seem to have a section for pictures that people have up loaded. I know the Kit pic thread has pictures but the thread is over a 100 pages and they are not searchable? Is there a section which the administrators could setup with pages to add pictures of loadouts games etc. I love looking at what people are wearing to get ideas but these are mainly interdispersed with many comments on how good they look so the thread goes off course. Also it would be great to see pic of the events in one place not just on the thread which tends to get forgotton over time and not investigated by new forum members who would love to see the efforts of all the great load outs which people strive to pursue.

Great to see the uniform load outs pages now growing (Russians and Japs) but what about a couple of more pics of variations in each section.

Food for thought

The US boards have a system where you have four threads for loadouts.

There is a picture thread for WIP in which folk can expect positive encouragement and advice and there is 'finished article' picture in which comments can be more exacting.

Neither thread has comments allowed on it but have a seperate 'comments thread'.

I think i suggested something similar years ago when i was with CiA but the general consensus from the rest of the guys was that it wasn't needed/wanted.

Have you seen the kit guides, on the menu at the top of the page ? Is that what you mean ?

It's quite simple to view pictures of past events, for anyone who can be bothered to look. They are all archived and locked, which stops new posts pushing others down into obscurity. Every single event archive has a "pictures" thread in it. You usually find that, if someone is asking for pictures of a particular uniform, or bit of kit, that one of the forum kit whores will post one up pretty quickly anyway.

Edit - Even on the U.S WW2 airsoft forum, the kit picture threads go on for page after page, even split into "axis" and "allies" sections, with hundreds of photos posted. It's a very hard thing to keep "tidy", because people will post up pictures when they get a shiny, new uniform, or even, as we've seen recently, when it snows.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

I will have a look for the archived pics and yes the idea would have followed the kit list pics at the top of the site just thought in a library of pics would make it simple.

Will have a sort though
Cheers

is it worth expanding the kit guides? e.g more individual units, and a brief unit history?

just a thought.

cheers, Tom.

If someone wants to write it, I'm sure it could be included. Copying and pasting from other sites not allowed! :happyswing:

I'm happy to add more information to the Japanese one if required; I was also tempted to do a "very basic" Chindit/Commonwealth kitlist, based on modern OG's, but I need to ask Gadge and Yith for information and guidance first ideally.

Already got a Chindit one - I've been waiting for someone to provide the text for the last two years!

The original Idea was to make non-unit-specific loadouts... ie,... this is US Infantry, US Airborne, bla bla bla, rather than this is the 35th 2nd, 1st etc.
