Jimbo will be running this game (forum name Zero Bravo) and I have been drawing up a possible game plan for it.

It will be one of our tradmark Worthing 24 Hour games :D and for the most part will be set in the "Ardnees forest" in Bastogne. Like I said, this is not for definate, but Jimbo will be having a look at the game plan on sunday and seeing how fesable it will be for the site we play at.

This will be a over night game and will require you to be sleeping in trenches and foxholes, so if you are interested, remember to pack apropriatly.

If all go's to plan, it should be a great 24 hours providing we get the numbers, which brings me on to my main point, Numbers!

If you like the sound of this then please post a comment doing so when the game plan has been posted by Jimbo or myself.

We will need Allied and Axis forces ranging from Heer, SS, FJ, American Airbourn, Brit Para etc...

When me and jimbo have agreed on the plans, we will post them.

So watch this space :) ...

Hang on! (x) of you, (y) of me, dont mind playing Airsoft, I make that Pimms O’clock

Interested, pending where it is. However I am also slightly dubious of the idea of sleeping in a foxhole in February. I slept in a tent on the bare ground in April with a blanket round me and I still shivered myself awake 4 times during the night!

April !!

There were players sleeping in December last year - Minus 12-14 in tents, ask Steiner it was his car that recorded the temp at Matlock, just before would couldn't see in, due to frost.

We survived....

I'm not disputing the temperature inside the tent, and yeh it was f-in cold in that wall tent at D Day+2. No ground sheet or ground roll, camp bed or air bed. I'm making the point that sleeping in a foxhole in February wouldn't be a huge amount of fun and may lead to a lot of people dropping out on the Sunday.

yeah It might be best to put the, sleeping in trenches as an additional 'option', rather than an enforcement

Exactly...although I'm not sure there will be a huge number of takers.

hypothermia aint nice. Feb is still freezing cold at night. I think a camp site would be the better option. Less chance of accidents happening, less chance of being sued.

Good idea its just not practical in my book.

Where is the 'Ardnees forest then ?? Is it so dense you need to go round on all fours, hence Hard Knees ?   I'd hate to think what would become of the battle in the Schnee Eifel ! (Shoe truffle??)

This might help !

BTW , don't mind you posting a general idea thread, however before it get's too far , you need a firm date, price and rough script before you get on with promoting on here. PM me for more if you need to .

PS ..& you can ask Webby or Steiner if you think your being hard kneed !!

With the right winter clothing you should be fine in Feb even without a tent

I did tell Pimms not to post it on here untill we'd confirmed dates etc, but he obviously got too excited and couldn't help himself, forgive him, he's young!
The Game will be held at the Elite Action Games site in Worthing and due to other game commitments will be at the end of February, but with the British climate nowerdays who knows what the weather will be like.
We have played 24 hr games there in December before and it hasnt been an issue yet.
Sleep? at a 24 hour game? why would you? a couple of hours between stag duties maybe.
One of the things I wanted to discuss with Pimms before he posted up about this game was wether the kind of games we run might be a bit too "Mil-sim" for the WWII guys.
Normally harbour areas are all in game, hot and liable for attack at any time, so it really is a matter of stags on duty, catching an hour here and there and generally fighting through. What I was unsure of was if this kind of full on approach was suitable to the majority of you guys.
Well he's posted it up now so I'll be really interested in what you guys think.
The site is mixed woodland, total area appx 45 acres, with no ameneties. ( we'll get in a portaloo if we get enough people interested, normally we just use the local Tesco :D )

Yeh generally speaking, CiA weekend games involve about as much time drinking and such like as they do actually airsofting. Spend the day fighting, spend the night drinking...then regret it the next dayand fight with a hangover lol I very much doubt you'll get many people wanting to go on stag.

I like the general idea, especiallly that the cp can come under attack for the 24hr period. Personally I don`t give a hoot if I can sleep or not, I`ve got to travel a fair way to get to games so something a bit more, dare I say it, hardcore, would be very interesting 8)

I'll have a chinwag with Pimms and re write his scenario. It was a good plan and is well suited to our site. We really would like to host a WWII game. As for the p#ss up we can organise a good un. I do the cooking for the site so have a griddle plate etc (70 burgers, that is burger, cheese, bacon, sauasage & onion, in a bun in 60 mins today!) We've plenty wood so a big fire can be built and down here nestled into the heart of the south downs we're normally mild with weather.
Happy to run whatever you guys want.

Some would say too much fuckin time spent playing with toy guns .....

Of course I would offically dispute that ...and blame it all on those formation boozing bastards of the Blingen Gruppe . It's all about quality reenactment
