I agree with Gadge's sentiment (stop the press I know) For CiA events its important to be able to identify the game organisers, much like on the forums with their "Comrades in Arms Organisers" subtext on their avatars..

I have Officer stuff for my open days playing, because I like the kit, I normally revert to my sarge strips for CiA events depending on whether I get selected for squad leadership or not...

Otherwise just leave the uniform blank and then you can be whatever :)

Organisers as MP's or Feldgendarmerie? NO WAY. It would make me feel "dirty"

If the cap fits.....!

Would've replied earlier to my own thread, but the NHS filters seems to think it's a 'gaming' site.

I was going to say, I think badging for lower ranks up to corporal (unless you're an organiser or are doing a specific character from film or history) is the way forward. I chose T/5 to promote myself to, because, as I think Flib said, it's only really a pay grade up, and not a command position. I think, given the bio I've written in the Allied Private forum, my 'legend' would be a technician, being a rifleman with some special skills - in this case as a medic. And since I've already awarded myself the Bronze Star, I think I've earned the extra money!

What does everyone else think, I'm interested to hear thoughts/suggestions.

I went for Major mainly because of age (I suppose much higher rank would be in order but you don't see many red lapels running round the battlefield so I passed on the Generals etc!)

But also when building my German kit I was inspired by a cover picture on an Osprey book of an SS Major in smock and crusher!

As has been previously said - when you are running a game it really does help if you are instantly identifiable. And a bonus to the enemy because commanders are always valuable targets!

All these officers and NCOs...

Glad I'm a Grunt. I do enough organising, managing and bossing in my day job as it is.

I still seem to end up charge when I play though... And if we're going on age = rank I either a very senior NCO (hmmm what would a Gunny wear?) or a Lt Col. 8)

Or the worlds most unsucessful PFC

I'm not to keen on the wearing of Insignias or ranks, so I'll probably not take myself past corporal. Private is fine for me now as I think it fits my age and experiance. :)
