Nice long fuse you have on that model 39.
makes a change from the 4 sec blue you usually see.

Looking good mate, if i could offer one suggestion it would be to get some sort of neck scarf, collared shirts are pretty rare on ORs until 1945 and then ususally as a best shirt for walking out. Other than that though thats a bloody good impression.

What blanco have you got on there as its a really deep coverage, or is it just the picture?

The picture makes the 'blanco' to be too green and not olive enough. Could be the photo but other colours look good.

The blanco is (Whisper it quitely) Dulux tarragon glory number 1 emulsion mixed with 3 parts water to 1 part paint, I then applied the mixture twice and in my opinion it has come out really well. Now I know some of you may gasp at what I have done, but with blanco becoming more scarce I thopught that this would make a good substitute, total cost? £12 for 1 litre mixed at a local paint shop.

More than good enough for airsoft use! :good: The webbing should bleach out in the sun, rain and mud too. Don't obsess about minor details (unless you're going to re-en' things), just get out and play!

Actually, a member of my re-enactment group suggeted it to me. It is a bloody good substitute though.

I've recently had a bottle of Warrens blanco substitute to review (see next issue WWII Reenactors Magazine) and its bloody good stuff.

Applied to a new pouch it's colourwise a perfect match for KG3 and has the same surface appearance too... all that is left to be seen is whether or not it will 'wear' in the same way as KG3 cake/puck.

I'll be using it myself from now on though as its a brilliant shade match and consistancy and you get tons of it for a tenner.

Have you got one of the bottles with 'a bit more brown' added in? If so, can you post pics?

No idea if its pre or post more brown. I was sent it last week. Whichever one it is its a perfect match so I can only assume its post 'more brown'

Yes, the photo does make the colour look lighter than it is, it is a bit darker than the picture suggests.

Here is my small pack by comparison -

@ DT - that must have been SoF's product - Shoot n Scoot's stuff that Gadge mentioned is brand new to the market.

@ P-J, if you want to have a look at KG3 substitutes then drop by this website for more Blanco info than you ever dreamt possible. Or your worst nightmare, depending on your feelings for Blanco. :giggle:

OMG, look at me!

Can you spot the farby bits?

Alternatively I can do flecktarn trousers, see below, what's the least farby look, plain olive drab or flektarn?

EDITED to make the images work.

I had to look twice! Barrie as a Jerry! Flecktarn is fine mate. I have some feldgrau trousers if you want to borrow them?

Thanks for the offers chaps, the thing is having just moved house we have a complete moratorium on spending for a bit so I don't want to borrow trousers in case I put a hole in them.

Pouches and straps however should be pretty indestructible so if you don't mind I'll have those please Steiner.
