Nothing groundbreaking, but here are the fruits of my sewing labour the past couple of days:

Grossdeutschland Pioniere insignia onto my HBT uniform, ready for Schaulen. Note the sleeves are rolled up inside, so the cuff title is still clearly visible. Also, the Y-straps are always worn underneath the s/boards, for the same reason.

My aertex shirt with 1st Inf Div CMP slips. Many thanks to Stof for his invaluable advice and help on the MP kit. I'll put a full pic up in the next few days, hopefully.

Well, they did up until they were captured, and then quickly ripped off the cuff titles, for fear of being labelled as SS or elite "Nazis".

Kudos on your Brit div patch bling Andy :good:

Kudos to Sandy, who made the patches - I just sewed 'em on, and attached the CMP ciphers.

Are these posted for us to comment on, to help correct your mistakes?
What did you use as reference material for your GD loadout?
There are lots of details that could do with sorting out before it looks like a WW2 German loadout.

OK, here are a few pointers - hopefully some of these you will have picked up from that link - a lot of your stuff is on the wrong side. Spade should be on the left, and you should see the buckle side (otherwise how will you get it off?), with the bayonet mounted in the middle of it. Breadbag should be over your right buttock.

Cuff title, yes on the right sleeve, but only 15cm from the cuff. Your Obergefreiter chevrons also look rather high up. I think I'm correct in saying they should be 15cm from the top of the sleeve. Your other insignia and awards are a bit of a mish-mash, really. Like many new starters (myself included!) you've probably blinged up a bit too much, but if you have an Iron Cross 1st class, then you should also have the 2nd class ribbon in your buttonhole. Also, it would be very unusual to have a tank destruction badge (also too high on the sleeve, I would say), without the Infantry Assault badge (which signifies 3 separate actions) - unless of course, destroying a tank was in your first or second action! Also, if you want to be really accurate, I would say you should have BeVo collar tabs on an M43 tunic, not embroidered ones, which are much more associated with earlier tunics.

Loving these Pacific themed pics Mitrano, and the M1928 Thompson even more! What I would give to get kit to convert my Cyma....

I am going US Army Pacific theatre this Sunday hopefully (once I get my B.A.R back from a upgrade) so rolled up trousers and camo covered M1 steel pot here I come! (re-watching HBO's Pacific on Blu-ray just now, got the bug)

He made a good job of it though Alex, your blotting out looks rather patchy in your avatar.
