A pic of me in the gear I find myself using on pretty much every game;

List:
-M40 helmet
-Splinter smock (works great in the leaf forests here in southern Sweden!)
-M43 trousers
-Leather jackboots with heel irons and hobnails
-Y-straps & leather belt with Heer buckle
-MP40 puches (I've discovered that the small cleaning kit pouch is perfect for storing my smokes :good: )
-Breadbag with M43 hat in it for when the helmet gets too heavy
-Canteen with felt cover and aluminium cup
-Cheap retro wristwatch (not visible on this pic though)

And the gun is of course an AGM MP40 with a random MP40-ish leather sling. :)

These are a few I took of the Doughboys (and others) at Avoncroft last month with a period Argus C3 35mm. There are quite a few but I thought some of you might be interested. Any with me in were taken by Craig.

And you'd better come straight home after work today, none of this running off and invading Poland with your friends!

Good first attempt, a few things easy to correct. Take the stretchy crap helmet net which you got with the helmet off. I don't know why SOF bother sending them with the M1's. The leg straps go over the pockets not under them and wear them loose! Bulk out the musette bag with towels or spare clothing and wear the holster on your chest not under your arm. Looks good though!

Oh and roll ya sleeves down, this isn't the pacific. I think there is reference to very few paratroopers wearing their sleeves up. But the vast majority of the 10,000 or so soldiers didn't have sleeves rolled up.

Get one of the tan or brown helmet nets from SOF.

Why do you need more rank patches?

And maybe a leather helmet peak strap from WPG. The SOF ones are terrible.

Why is the 'US' symbol on the musette bag so big? Might want to try and rub that off.

Also going for this look due to it being Greenback

Just for info about Sicily period airborne uniforms.
They would be un-reinforced uniforms with no leg straps?
You should have a US flag on the right arm too. That was pretty standard for 82nd throughout the war.
Its a good D-day look if you add the arm flag.

Mate I thought your gear looked sweet at greenback. Just gotta make it look a little less new, and a little more worn. But hey thats just an excuse to get out in it more.
