Lennon ammo boots are the real thing for £100 or so, still made today on the original lasts and using traditional construction and techniques..

Are you talking about our very own local-ish bootsmith http://www.williamlennon.co.uk/ perchance? I can't see anything apart from WW1 boots on the website.

Yes, for some reason they aren't on their website but you can either buy direct as Yith says or from Khaki Devil, who stock them. I bought mine at a show as I wanted to try them on for size. I am a size 9 normally and size 9 fitted just great (unsurprisingly!). One caveat - if you want to use foam inner soles and/or wear very thick socks then consider going up a size to accommodate them (Lennon boots are ammo boots - no concession to modern softy feet). Hence my try before you buy recommendation.

Do you need an M1 for the weekend Gadge? If so I've got one going spare.

Thanks for the offer mate but i've got a thompson i've had for years and hardly ever get chance to skirmish with so i'll probably use that.

yeah the compass pouch has a compass in it as i said, perhaps it was on another post, if so, yeah its got a US compass in it on loan from Blaine, likewise the carlise pouch has my game bandages in. Running the allied side from the regen point i nearly never use a bandage but a compass is often handier so thats the one closer to hand. For the same reason i have a compass pouch on the front of most my webbing sets these days.

Weirdly my 'game' these days is more one of LARP chess, Evo and I get radio reports from the guys, look at the map and manouvre them to the places they need to be, counter enemy moves etc so most my 'webbing' these days is designed to carry map, compass and radio :)

and jeep cap, yeah i'm wearing one in the pic! :)

Again, as aforementioned a helmet had been bought, i just dont get receipt of it until April 6!

with a damaged c1 and previously prolapsed L4 and L5 i tend to avoid 'steel helmets' where possible as it's just not worth the cripping back pain. I put one on to go 'up the line' if i need eyes on on a location or we have to move the CP but i dont wear one as a matter of course.

Interestingly in the WWII german army plastic helmets were made for senior officers with back or neck injuries to wear while on parade!

If i could get a convincing plastic M1 shell i'd probably use that though.

I always think thats looks odd and undersized. I've seen MPs do it and it just looks a bit odd.

For Band of Brothers they made fibreglass ones, they are amazing, look identical but light as hell! Doug's got a Medic one I think. Either way, it's probably not outside of the realms of possibility to look in to finding a Fibreglass one. There must be some knocking around. That one of Dougs, you can hardly feel that you're wearing a helmet.

Shame Petes not making fibreglass shells still as i'm sure he could have done them easily.

Some pics from our recent Battle of Intramuros (Liberation of Manila) Reenactment last Sunday. This was a fund raising event for the benefit of the children of fallen soldiers.

Nice to see 82nd and 101st together?
Or is it another arm flag that needs removing from 101st jacket?
I think it must be as 82nd didn't do the extra pocket thing.
It takes two minutes to take it off and turn the corner from farbism. Even band of brothers got that right.

The Carbine is a Denix model gun.

Cocks and dry fires. Mag is detachable and holds rounds too.

That looks great mitrano! your uniform and photographic skills are really excellent :good:

I on the other hand have neither BUT its a beautiful day and I thought I'd post my first impression, so tips on improvement would be really helpful. I did however manage to put the helmet on my head, so that was a better start than expected :giggle:

Looks great to me!

Only comments I have are:

#1 raincape is green and hence post war. Personally I'd rather go without than have one of those in my pack these days. (I own about 3 that only get used as groundeheets)
#2 entrenching tool handle... correct type, but beware they do fall out! I've lost several and it may be worth doing something to ensure you don't use yours!
#3 I love that the sling points on the tommy are in the correct place for brit! Mine aren't... you just need to get a sling on it! :)

Anyway, great impression, well done!
