That's looking excellent, DM - I'm just trying to work out exactly what you've got there, and how it's all attached!

i've been following the diagrams on Heer pack order in a book i've got!

On the A frame there's the A frame bag, blanket, mess tin, zelt poles and zelt, and on the belt there's the bread bag, canteen, gas mask container and bayonet. i've got an entrenching tool as well, that'd go on too, but i was treating the leather when i took the photo!

My mp40's in a crate i've made, out of shot!

Very Nice DM!

Interesting set up on the A frame. Ive got a load of period pics, and seen it set up either the way you've done it, or with the Zelt on top of the A frame bag. In fact, with the M36 tunic and the early slate-grey Double Decal lid, id say its 100% in ordnung for invading Russia :)

Oh yeah, why u got a load of Volumetric Flasks on the shelf? running a Crystal Meth lab in your spare time?

cheers, i've gone for a very early war look purely on the basis that i like the M36 tunic over later models/camo tunics, and i've tried to be as accurate as possible, within what funds will allow.

as far as the glassware goes, no, it's not a meth lab  i collect old medical and lab equipment, the house is full of old pliers, syringes, scalpels and god knows what else. In fact, i could probably do quite a good Sani impression. :D

Looks impressive.

I remember reading that the pattern was withdrawn from the ETO/NWE after just a month because.

1) there were a number of blue on blue incidents as it looked like ss camo to untrained soldiers.

and

2) It makes you very visible when you move (it obviously works fine static)

any truth in the second reason when you played the other day matt?

ummmm, to be honest, the only times I was shot was where I was was taunting the people I had just pasted from within a bush! I think with any sort of camoflage it doesn't really hide you when you move. The marines kept their Camouflage right to the end of the war on the pacific, they used the sand colour more to the end of the war with a mixture of the OD fatigues too.

Below is a pic that was taken of heather and I taking cover in some long grass, you can see how well the camo works compared to DPM

Then further into the deeper part of the wood, where it is much darker, the pattern doesnt perform particularly well, however the modern Marpat does.

First rule of cammo. How effective the colours are depends on where you're hiding.
