I have a Brit officer's barathea service dress from Sanjay. I've spent about 6 months collecting the right regimental buttons and badges to go with it as the ones it comes with are shite. I think it looks OK but it photographs horribly - colours are all different and it looks way more shiny. The cut is good (for me, anyway) but I suspect the material is a wool synthetic mix. I'll bring it along to a game sometime.
It was the barathea i was wondering on. Took me ages to decipher that he did that on the scrambly WWII bit that I didn't look at what else was kicking around.
Given what i had heard about battle dress I was a little dubious. Cheers for the in the know and all.
Nope... never heard of them before.
My chindit kit is probably going up for sale in the next week or so if you're interested?
I'm 6 foot 2 and medium build, hat size about 60...

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Yeah that hat would bury you.
I'm 180cm in nato sizes
jacket
180/112
legs
84/85/100 (but thats my uniform size, the trousers are *big* on this uniform.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Yeah may take a while, im not 100 per cent sure i'm going to sell it yet either.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
It rarely gets used and I'm leaving the re-enactment group i use it with as I've simply not got the time to commit to their events calendar and co-run PBI and my Djing.

gadge, dont get rid....... you are only a young man, you might go back to re-enacting in a few years. i remember selling all my climbing and mountaineering gear becouse i w orked shifts and didnt have time............ 3 years later i had a different job that didnt work weekends . by then there was no chance off spending about 2 grand to get it all back, and i havent climbed since. hang onto it for a while.i have regreted it many times.
Yeah Scaleys right, so much easier to pack it away, than to start from scratch. Just my 2p's worth.

Yeah I guess so its just with leaving the far east group and a far east game not on the cards for some time i cant see it ever getting used much.
Only cost me about 90 quid for it all anyway...
Moving house so ideal time to bin surplus kit, i'll have a think about it.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Yeah, there is that, I spent yesterday vacuum packing away all my modern kit, Its never going to be used. Bloody great idea the vacuum bag, fits on the top of the wardrobe now.

One of us at stoneleigh.

Nice pic, you should try ageing it.
