Spectacular mate, flawless as far as I can see 1 note try folding your trousers over the top of your gaiters it stops dust and water getting into them.

Are the gloves airborne or not I cant remember, and when were the roughout boots introduced instead of the service boots?

Thanks for your kind words. The only thing I want to get now is a 2nd rangers decal for my helmet and then I should be done.

They are the airborne gloves but I've heard they were quite sort after by other units such as the rangers so thats my excuse for having them (and with the current weather I was glad of them on saturday). I'm not sure when the rough out boots were brought into service but I think they were common issue by D-day

The gaiters are the smallest size avaliable but I will try and make them a little tighter.

Looking very nice there indeed.

About the only thing I could pick on, which hasn't been picked on already, (and this is being really picky) is that the Ranger insignia looks a bit low down on the sleeve, but thats being really damn picky!

I didn't know that the Rangers did the two water bottle thing... Interesting!

So, yup... go out and get it dirty! It looks brand new! :D

Edit: oo just noticed that your mag bag is on over the webbing. Am I right? If you put it on under the webbing then it won't flap around so much. :)

Edit: lol, just noticed I can't see the ammo pouch for your 1911 either, do you have one? :)

Great pics but the first one is a definite 'rabbit + headlights' look! :)

^ yeah it was a good old self timer pic and it seams to have caught me looking a little less than casual.

The gaiters are from sof as is the M41 jacket which has already lost a button. Anyone know where I might get a new button?

I did order a 1911 pouch but they didn't have any instock so I'm still waiting on that (but its a luger in the pouch anyway so no real rush for it till I get a 1911).

Yeah I looked at the buttons on my M41 (same as yours but from epic) and decided the sewing was decidedly dodgy. I've restitched all of the buttons on my jacket.

As for a replacement... hmmm...

This guy has some real ones...

Alternatively search around for some similar looking ones on ebay or at the local haberdashery shop. You'll probably find something similar to what's on the jacket from modern styles. They look pretty generic to me! You'll have to replace the whole lot most likely.

Or... ask SOF, they might have spares.
Or... move one of the buttons that is not used (eg the cuffs) to where the other one fell off.

Cool i might have to invest in some repro gaiters for now. My originals are too small unfortunatly.

I'm in the habit of resewing buttons on every item I get before I wear it in the field. It makes good sense to me.
I dont think there is one maker who can sew a button on with any degree of certainty. I certainly wont go out in trousers that have not had the braces buttons done with some extra thread.
Make it your own habit, you wont be sorry you did, you will be sorry you didn't.

I have gone over all my uniforms and resewn all of the buttons and things that looked likely to come loose, only thing I have not done is my denison because it looks nice and solid.

There's only a couple of buttons on a denison anyway... and replacements are as common as muck.

However I have had to restitch the tabs at the sides near the bottom on mine as they were coming un-stitched.

Fantastic pics :good: :good: :good:

Wouldnt a folding e tool be more appropriate for a Ranger than a T handle?

Not being critical just a thought

Great pics mate, nice to see more infantry. :good:
I like the 2 waterbottle thing, it's more from a gamer view as I'm always running out of water at the most inconveanant of times :slap: . so much so that I was thinking of doing the same myself.

Got these bits from ATF - very good quality indeed. Finally, some authentic German gloves, and also internal suspenders for the M36 tunic - most useful if you're doing early war impression without Y-straps. :D

Yeah its cool but unless we have a 'Berlin April 45 game' (which would be cool) then its not going to be very useful :)
