Only realised yesterday too when they appeared in SoF's new catalogue.

Most army surplus stores I have been into and seen online do the green 1s, am I right in thinking they are slightly smaller than the black modernish 1s?

The modern ones have an extra compartment at the bottom and an extra ring over the lens for coloured lenses. Only the stitch-nazis will complain about those.

The metallic repros are a pain in the arse. The little metallic blade-spring inside the switch tends to deform over time (especially when using the signal-button). In the plastic type (TL-122B) you can remove the switch...in the metallic ones (TL-122A) the switch is held in place by pop-rivits.

Get some extra bulbs at a bicycle shop ;)

Try and get the surplus british one rather than a new civi look alike, as these are closer, Sturdyer, and are cheeper(
