I was reading through a copy of Batailles (l'histoire militaire du XXe Siecle) a french WW2 history magazine when I saw these pictures and had to do a double-take! :o
I just cant get over how much the guy at the back of the photo looks like Sylvester Stallone!
in close up:
Same guy second from the left in this photo

The photos are actually of 12 French members of 33rd SS grenadier division "Chalemagne" who were captured in May 1945 by the Americans near Bad Reichenhall. The French 2nd division came in to take control of the sector and fearing reprisals they tried to escape. They were captured and then executed by the Gaullist General Leclerc. The story goes that he interogated them and asked why they were in german uniforms, the officer of the grenadiers replied "and why are you in an American uniform?" Leclerc decided they were insolent and had them executed! They all died shouting "Vive la France"

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942

Lol, perhaps they will make a prequel - "Rambo rising", or something like that.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
