Oh yes, I always cringe when I see photos of Dave as well.
Oh hang on... that's not what you meant.
You both look great in photos... don't worry!
Tunics have nice big pockets so just use them instead!
That partly depends on how many pocketfuls of BBs you like to pour out. My K98 mags like to 'unload' themselves at the slightest opportunity (maybe VSR mags do in general?), and some sort of pouch to put them in so they fit and are held snugly is essential. Can't say I've had much luck with loose magazines in pockets.
With my Lee Enfield mags I put them in tobacco tins padded with bubblewrap before they go in the Universal pouches.
Cheers
Martin

Hmmm, that's a fair point Martin, I cant say I have ever had a problem with my vsr mags unloading in my pockets myself. I always just use my pockets, I actually find it easier to get to the mags in pockets rather than fiddling with pouch flaps. Live mags go in the right pocket, empty mags and thumb loader in the left as a basic 1940's dump pouch!
“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

Sound of AEGs Not much that can be done about it though.

the sound of airsoft weapons is always going to be a disappointment ,i'ts a shame but so far i've seen nothing that is acceptable cosmetically or compact enough for anything other than support weapons ,it's the trade off we have to accept .
on the subject of vsr magazines i have the same problem of them unloading in my pockets , i was thinking of experimenting with little square caps to go over the release mechanism ,something that is just a push fit , i'd personally only use the correct pouch for the gun even if it's an empty pouch in reality.

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......

I haven't been to any WW2 events yet. I do find this thread interesting as I thought I was being silly in trying to get leather gloves and modifying retro motorbike goggles (goggles over glasses is my usual airsoft eye pro). I did watch one ww2 airsoft video on youtube which was really good and convincing up until a Russian officer started shouting orders in a brummie accent. A Brummie accent can ruin anything

This:
Dare I say, a bad attitude ruins an impression?
You can have the best kit going, but if you're a tw*t, you instantly ruin it
I don't think I've ever mentioned it before but full face masks kill it stone dead for me. I can live with pretty much any anachronism in the heat of battle, but if someone is acting like a cock and/or wearing a Vader mask then my disbelief is un-suspended and I'm just a middle aged bloke playing with toy guns in a field.

still not as bad as a Russian officer shouting with a Brummie accent (no offence intender to those from the Brummie area )
i know it sound's a bit daft but hamming it up with an accent is preferable if you have to shout instruction's/orders , i never really considered it before but it is true , if we are calling for "sani " rather than medic then an attempt at a German or American etc accent is worth the effort ,especially when taking prisoners or around the wounded or shouting orders etc.

There is only one Brummie accented Russian officer I can think of, and I can't say it spoils it for me. They have varied accents in Russia too
" i was thinking of experimenting with little square caps to go over the release mechanism ,something that is just a push fit "
Along with the tobacco tins I got some cheap neoprene phone/camera pouches from poundland which my old APS2 magazines fitted into, that also prevented pocket unloading. Unfortunately my K98 VSR mags don't fit in either, although the strange VSR mags which warren using for his new No. 4s do as they are a few mm shorter.
It took me about 20 minutes to modify my K98 pouches so they fit in though, it isn't hard.
Cheers

Ah yes. I even tried to imitate it at shaulen when we were the 'diversionary' attack. My naff attempts at "Ste-u-ve. Tayk yaw man arown the luft" were a shambolic farce.
The attck was very well done though. And no, it doesn't detract in the slightests, without weighing into the old Kermode post on language and accents in filums.
What gets to me is when people do the bare minimum in order to fit it. They hear about the games, and how much fun they are, and they want to join in - yet they don't want to make the effort to fit in. For first-time players, we allow the use of Flecktarn and plain grey school trousers for a basic Waffen-SS look... but now we also have players who, after more than a year of playing (and attending every single event), are STILL wearing Flecktarn and grey school trousers.
Rubs me up the wrong way quite properly. Not sure if you guys have the same issues up in the UK.

Well even a broad brummie officer of the Red Army can't be any worse than Shaun Connery in Hunt for Red October - "We Sail Into Hishtory!"
I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.

To be fair to Pete, he's from the Black Country, not Birmingham.

I'm not a brummie, you twat. Also, at least I've been to some WW2 airsoft games and, organised a fair few too (including the one that many rate as their favourite event ever), I was making custom guns well before any of you and, have put more into the "scene" than most have as well. So, to you and the others jumping on the band wagon and increasing your post count, think before you post, knobbers.

Fair enough and, thankyou. What people don't realise or, seem to appreciate about that video and that event, is how much work went into it. CiA worked REALLY hard at that one. It was the first full on Red Army vs Germans game and, we took a big risk organising it. Also, it was the first time, anyone did a "whistle charge", ordered "not a step backwards", etc, all thing now done at every Russian front game. It also meant that other organisers could organise Russian themed games off the back of it, as there was now a player base with the right kit. Now, if that's not trying to create an atmosphere and a mindset for players, I don't know what is.

Likewise I apologise if I did cause offense, I didn't mean anything by it. My native Hampshire accent doesn't sound any better coming from a Deutsches Soldat.

I ain't apologising. I was effectively mocking you with my piss poor impression .
