Hi guys just seen on the Zero in Forums than an announcement has been made that another site to full under the Xsite banner is "the paper mill" based in Maidenhead Berkshire. It was recently used as a place to record the following video. Looks cool, just mute the sound. Starlingrad anyone?
There is a video of the site http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0LV_bETEzs

Ooh. This looks like it could be a great site.
Well the internal shots look good, but I reckon there's just one or two rooms being used there... I reserve judgement based on seeing the outside and the extent of the buildings.
BTW, all that rubble and twisted metal, whilst being wonderfully atmospheric could be a H&S nightmare. It was stuff like that, that got the Phoenix Urban site we used for Arnhem shut down if I remember right.
Oh and I'm sure there are plenty of other scenarios that could fit in a ruined factory setting... not just Stalingrad! Though I would of course love to play that one... hehe.

Yes the H&S of the site will be on Xsites top prioties i imagine, as they from my experience do everything by the book. Yes the scenarios of bombed out buildings are endless and actually i hope they dont do a starlingrad one.... as i dont have any russian kit yet!

Okay, found it on google maps...
It looks big, but from some of the discussions I've read it sounds like it could be an inside only venue?
There's a small image and some text on their website.

Of course I'm not sure why I'm so interested... it's miles away from me! lol
I used to do paintball (the shame, the shame) at an indoor site in Islington that was an old factory of some description. They'd cleared away a lot of the dangerous stuff but it was still very atmospheric. Much better than other CQB places I've been to
Oh, yes as a long time attendee of the old Lightfighter urban site in Sheffield I understand exactly what you mean and have a soft spot for old factory settings for sure...
If it's Xsite that have it, H&S will be top priority. Tim doesnt mess around when it comes to running sites...

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

Yeah Tim is a good chap not seen him for a while now, presume he had been running games at the orchard.

I'm not bloomin' surprised! That place was full of hazards: wires, asbestos, leaking oil, metre-deep drops, etc. (Which is partly why it was so good!)

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Heh, off topic but hazards wasn't why Phoenix Urban was closed down (that was to do with receivers of estate not seeing airsoft as a suitable revenue stream). The best games I have ever played were before it opened to the public when it was completely uncleared. Much more exciting, much more real - utterly fabulous. Bugger H&S!

This is all of 2 miles from where I live. Neighbours will be the River Thames and SGI UK.
Looks good and worth me send my Xsite membership in after all.

The Thames !! Hmm Sturmpioniere dingy crossing with piro - now that's a H&S nightmare. Bit of rubble, hole in the floor pah! lmao

Too right Del! Just shows what pussies some people are and how soft our way of life has become!

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Come on Pete, if you voluntarily go to a place with holes all over the floor and then fall down a hole in the floor it's gotta be someone else's fault, right?
If there's one thing life has taught us, it's that there should be NO consequences for any of our actions.
Hi I am Mav, one of the owners of the site.
We are running as an Xsite franchise so will follow the very same stringent ways as the site in Lane End High Wycombe.
While we will be clearing the site of anything obviously dangerous like edge protecting the holes and sides, cutting anything that you could impale yourself on, I can assure you the feel, rubble and look of the derelict warehouse will be very much present. Our game brief will obviously suit the site and yes it will be dangerous to a degree, but then so is running through a wood or just simply shooting a BB gun with just shooting glasses as protection
Being an admirer of the ww2 era and a 101st airborne airsofter I will most certainly be running world war 2 scenario games and weekenders. Stalingrad and the last stand at Berlin are being planned as we speak.
Feel free to pm me any questions
Oh and the site is a mixture of woodland, outside urban and offices/warehouse space. It's around 3 acres of usable woodland, 10 acres outside urban type terrain and 15 acres of warehouse/offices.
WIN!

Ah good... it's a real bonus to have the woodland as well! ![]()
Looks fantastic and not a six hour drive away for Army Group South. Looking forward to your firt game but suggest you announce one soon as next years calendar is filling up fast!

Is there a list up yet for next years events? need to start planning now as its going to be expensive for me and my mate to come over for a weekend
cant find the facebook xsite papermill?
I echo Zero Bravoo's words, if you plan on running a "proper" WW2 themed event, get your date and scenario announced asap. Work permitting, I'll be there!
