Mountain troops used the stg44, Jack.....search on google, photo's found.
The mountain troops used the G33/40 and MG34/42.
I have found one image of a jaeger whose division I can't make out but the rest are all Skijagers who where equipped with the STG. But again, that's from the research I carried out.
Unless anyone has further knowledge and can correct me?
