Maybe we won't need the AK firepower, if we've got the MGs - if we slaughter them using AKs, then they're bound to start complaining!

Well, you know what they say in Bangkok? F**K 'EM!!!!

Update on the assault gun

its all finished building wise, (just got to mount the main armament and paint it)

ill film it driving round at work tommorrow and post it up soon

its 1/2 scale approx (to do it life size would need a low loader, and the costs of transport are ridiculous

it will just fit on the back of the pickup van so i can bring it for free :good:

so its small, but belive me, its got a NASTY bark.

armament will be a howitzer, (fires pyro, but no projectiles) just for noise and smoke

and a mg 42 in a hand held position (so gunner will be able to dismount if needed, or if the panzer cant negotiate certain terrain)

keep this under the hats gents, id like to surprize the allies.

from the reports ive had about the site, oddballs tank WONT get round most of it, (if it ever leaves the trailer in the car park  ) whereas our panzer can, and will be able to move through trees and accross grass, mud and all other rough terrain. Its ground pressure is so low, i dove it over my foot on a concrete floor, and i hardley felt it. 8)

Sig 33 was road tested today, and crashed within 30 secs :slap:

still it works, (only got up to 1/4 speed)

still needs painting and the main gun fitting,
and a little bit more work with an angle grinder in places

its small, and naff, but at least it gives us some armour, though what use it will be i dont know.
the allies may be so busy laughing or complaining about team balance, that KGSS can flank them and roll em up :good:

the Gun will fire like the cannon in this video

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jLIYBWAGv ... re=channel

and heres the video of its first quick drive (in the shop so not much room)

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Pgaf2dC9jr8

and a video of a real one in ww2 in action

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Sutn9oZp6 ... re=related

please dont let the allies on to this, it would be nice for the little tank to putter up, then Surprize them with its loud BARK

hope you like it, if only for comedy value, Porta

Lol, well spotted! Absolutely! Let's have a discussion about that very subject. I also want to try and play down the effectiveness of the MG42's. Hopefully, the CiA organisers who can also view this forum will not let on about waht we're up to!

My feed spring popped out from inside the mag on sunday. No biggy but worth bearing in mind that the mag shouldn't be overwound! It's now sorted with a pretty impressive quantity of JB weld. Apart from that, my '42 ran like a dream and I can't wait to sic it on the septics.

Apart from the obvious offensive tactics which we covered on sunday, we will also, by the looks of it, be mounting recce actions. We haven't really covered this, so, what I'd like to do is this. For the attacking phase/phases, I'm happy to lug the '42 and be a support gunner and give someone else a chance to lead. For the Recce patrols/sneaky stuff, I'd prefer someone else to take over my '42, so that I can take over as squad leader.

I'm sure Andy would jump at the chance

Good work so far mate.

Let's face it, I doubt we'll ever see genuine WWII armour at a game so scratchbuilt stuff like this is a pretty good addition. I imagine once the gun is fitted & a coat of paint & markings are added it'll look o.k. It's certainly no worse than Oddball's Tetrarch IMHO!

Keep us posted on progress.

All the best.

John. :)

Well at least it will have sensible proper marking on it for a start. I could never see the point of building a UK airborne tank and painting it up as a nation that never had them.

(maybe i should work on a UK camo tiger iI :) )

As for letting the cat out the bag, i'll say nowt lads, i'm a member of PBI and an associate of KGSS so all i'm interested in is seeing good games.

If it doesn't get wrecked it might be fun to use it in one scenario at op lightning or St lo?
