As you can see, we now have our own sub forum .(Thanks to Chommers by the way! ). Our memberlist is quite healthy and we'll review this fairly regularly and modify it as needed. To be an "active" member, you need to be attending games and, to a lesser degree, training days. We will remove people who don't show their faces. In order to organise our own games, we must have a clear idea of just who we can expect to actually turn up to them. Everyone who is on this list has told me personally that they want to be on it, so there's no real reason why it's not an accurate, up to date memberlist.

On here, we can discuss things without other people butting in or generally arsing about. Be as forthright and open as you want to be without getting personal. If you have any ideas for the development of the group, this is where you need to be posting them. Feel free to start your own threads, as the Hohenstaufen forum needs your input to make us a proper group. Then we can make decisions based on what people actually want to see/do, rather than just making them 'dictator' style.

I will be sitting down and sorting out a proper orbat sometime soon. Please don't get upset if you are asked to take the rank of private, it's not a reflection on your ability as a player but a necessity to make us look like a proper Waffen SS unit. Anyone who has to "badge down" will be compensated in some way for removing insignia that they have paid for (and sewn on!). We have to get a grip on rank markings from the word "go" and seniority within the group, coupled with how often people play/train will be the deciding factors. As soon as I sort out an orbat, it'll be posted up.

As explained in an earlier post I will endeavour to attend what I can within the fact that it cost me greatly to leave the Isle of Wight before I can even get to an event and think about the cost of that.

But i will attend what I can, games probably but training days probably not sri..

Jeff, that's fully understood mate. You have by far the most hassle to get to any event than of any of us.

Thanks for the sub forum chommers!!!

what would we do without your webhosting and skills

and thanks to all members of KGSS, i feel this could be a really STRONG group of players

im alread badged as a private, (not bothered at all about leading, UNLESS ITS A SUICIDE CHARGE, im happy to run out and draw fire)
i have nearly all the gear now, fledgrau, oak smock and trousers, helmet, webbing, m43 cap, i can carry a kar 98, or mp 40 and mags depending on whats required.

i also have an mp 40 i can loan to new players, though it would only have one mag, as its a spare gun only.

my only bother is wifey, and if airsoft becomes an issue again, im gonna drop the modern milsim stuff ive been dabbling with recently. training days are just as much fun for me as game days

what i would like is for us to deploy in a game as a unit, and see if we can "cut the mustard" on a section tatical and combat level ,or if were just softers in the same gear

either way i dont mind, but i think the expeirence is here to make the a real good show of a disiplined unit that can operate on a realistic level

Thanks Tony, I'm looking forward to fighting alongside you! You should definitely drop the modern shite, WW2 is where it's at. I really hope we can forge KG SS into a feared and respected fighting unit. We have decent numbers (it remains to be seen how many will turn up!). I will arrange a training day for November and we will will practice our asses off with tactics, so everyone goes home knackered and with no illusions of exactly what we're about, so everyone expect a hard day of tactics and 'live fire' skirmishing. I'm not interested in photo shoots or video projects, just making sure that we look 'right' and, more importantly, fight hard.

Thanks Guy! I guarantee no discussions about blanco, scaffolding, photoshoots, video projects or hobnail patterns! Lots of talk about games, tactics, guns and drinking though!

I also absolutely guarantee that the MG's will be at the Bulge game, no ifs or buts. You're always welcome as an "honorary" member of Hohenstaufen as well mate.

No worries mate, most of us KG SS are total pissheads anyway. I'm soon to order a nice tunic to put my lovely new cufftitle on as well.

I'd just like to welcome Tiny to Kampfgruppe SS as well. Those who've played alongside him know that he'll be an asset to the group. He's also got an MG42 on the go as well!

Yeah Tiny, great to have you both you & Porta onboard. How did you get out of the punishment battalion though?

They "volunteered" for mine clearing detail!

Thanks for the greetings guys, I've put up a pic of my MG42 in another thread, but its far from finished. Just gotta keep up the work on it and stop spending all me time drinking and gambling(well, I am 27th penal panzer at heart ).

My Two Cents.....

LardassMonkey - a member of the KG-SS or the honorary Soviet for training purposes?

If any SS kit needed for events - I'll bring spares.

Welcome to the group my friend

Thanks for the welcome chaps.

A full blown member, hopefully in time for the training day. The Soviet kit will still be along for the training day and will be out for any Eastern front game I'm afraid.
