I didnt realize there was such a organization in the uk so I am very happy that such a thing exists, and so close to home aswell lol. I know this sounds stupid but I have no idea when it comes to this air soft stuff. can you just buy airsoft guns? you dont have to go to the police or anything because they look like real guns? because I seen them available in the US but havnt been able to find a site that sells KAR98's in the UK. If you could forward me a link it would be muchly appreciated. If I could get all the equipment by by August then Ill be signing up for the next event (on the germans of course).
Welcome to the site. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but since 2007 you cannot buy airsoft weapons unless you are a registered skirmisher at an airsoft site with 3rd party public liability insurance. Other exemptions are re enactors, tv and theatre productions, museums and crown servants (police, armed forces) in the executions of their duty. You can buy two tone guns, these are half coloured bright green.
You cannot buy airsoft weapons known as RIF's (realistic imitation firearms) or imitation firearms (brightly coloured ones or two tone) if you are under 18.
You can go to an airsoft site and hire guns to play with and after you play 3 time in 2 months you can then get registered and buy RIF's. Again I have to point out you must be over 18 years to buy.
If you google VCRA, you will get a lot more info. This is just a very quick synopsis of the act.
On a happier note, its a great hobby with some excellent people, especially on this forum. I you like WW2 and want to know any thing, this is the place to be. Pat.

So do I have to have a permit to hire one of these airsoft for the day? would it be possible to hire one for the event on the 30-31st of august or is it only registered skirmishers that are part of a airsoft group that are allowed to participate in these events?

As Taffyjohn said it much easier to speak in person to someone who knows, Airsofting is excellent fun. Once you start you won't want to stop.
