Hi peps! Just a post to introduce myself! I'm Rick and I've been doing airsoft for a while now but bought modern military weapons. I really wanted to do WW2 because I used to re-enact US and German, so I'm so glad I found this site where I can do both!!!! :good:
I have all the gear for a German Heer or SS and US Airborne. I have a STG44 but it's the AGM bare metal version (I'm trying to darken it!)
I hope to see most of you at an event very soon!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I think il have to go to the 70th anniversary of The Battle of the Buldge battle as 1st SS, get to meet a few people. Can I use a CO2 powered k-98 at these events as I know some sites are abit funny using CO2 powered rifles. I don't have one yet but would like one!

Hello and welcome,

Hope to see you at event soon. Wrt rifles you need to check the event specific restrictions, personally I reckon lower powered is better. My Springer K98 does about 310:)

Cheers
Martin

Welcome to the forum, as others say don't be afraid to get stuck in the WW2 scene is the friendliest group of airsofters I know :)

I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.

For the mp44 ,first rub down with wire wool to remove surface oxidization then use birchwood Casey ally black(from gun shop or eBay) ,do about a 4 inch patch at a time as it reacts fast and if left on too long it goes sooty ,rinse off with water ,dry and do another bit ,the top gas tube on them is brass and you treat that with liver of sulphur (from art shop or eBay) ,again rub down with wire wool then mix about a tea spoon of liver of sulphur with a measuring jug of hot (not boiling) water and dip the pipe into the solution ,best use gloves ,you can watch the colour change to your taste then remove and wash off with water ,again it happens fast , you might use a clear lacquer after to prolong the effect as both methods are not hard wearing or let it weather inn in use .
