Hi fella , you'd be more than welcome at any event in the UK , not sure if they'd be worth travelling half way round the world for
Tell us a bit more about your local scene , any pics ?

Have a read through the threads in the weapons section . Over here there is a mixture of MP40s, K98 gas , Thompsons, M14s used as garands the odd MG42 etc ...plus a whole host of customised and custom built guns ...MP44 , Sten , Bren , Lee Enfields, 30 & 50 Cals , Springer 98s.....browse and have fun

Hello Heddy, we had a student from Thailand at our last game just at the weekend, I think he had a good time, but it is a bit far to travel just for an airsoft game, anyways, a warm welcome

Heddy - I'm curious why buying airsoft guns and repro German uniform is difficult for you in Indonesia.

Most of our airsoft guns and German uniforms and accessories are manufactured in the Far East!

Therein probs lies the answer to the question CW  we're all buying it up as its a more popular option (wrong choice of word I know but I've been christmas shopping and am in meltdown mode) and with there being less interest at the mo in indonesia, it would make sense (from a manufacturer/seller/business) to sell stuff where you get the most pennies ;) . Maybes worth if theres a group of you maybes arranging a deal with one of those replicating stuff ? Might knock some pennies off for a bulk buy and of course it means 'their' kit is seen and once people realise its available interest may pick up.

Also the "far east" is a rather vast area  just because its produced in one part, doesn't mean shipping costs are reduced to another part in the "far east" Some items would travel further than the length of the UK and require shipping over a vast expanse of water (all additional things to consider).

Hope it pics up and you get more Allies to play with :D

Ah, understood - I wasn't sure what your gun laws were. We very nearly had our imports gut off by the Government too!

As for uniforms - yes a lot of what we wear does come from China (via HK and Singapore eBay suppliers)!

Ebay dealers I can think of, off the top of my head Keith in Hong Kon and Barry Lyndon in Singapore. Some of us do wear their kit, some don't. A lot of it for some is price related, though the Eastern kit is becoming available via UK dealers at reasonable prices. Its much with anything some of their kit is good, some is ok and some is just dire. I guess we're just lucky in the fact we have quite a vast option of traders stocking and selling the kit in the UK, as well as those in mainland Europe, the states and of course ones in the Far East. Forgot Sanjays stuff, though I don't think I've seen the German kit up close and have never used him, I know some of the Allied reenactors like his kit, but he can be hit and miss.

Presume like most of us irrespective of what part of the world you live in, its the shipping costs getting that elusive item to you thats always the pain.

Its a question of practicality

we throw our uniforms about in the mud, over wire and brambles etc.

If they get shredded we cant hand them into the quartermaster as they would have 60 years ago for a new issue, we've obviously got to buy new ones.

hence field kit makes sense to buy cheap, if you're off to are-enactment show i'll wear expensive repros or originals but i wouldn't for airsoft.

Hi Heddy, welcome to the forums. Nice to see that Airsofters the world over are lured by the Feldgrau and MP40

well said.

here, we go further! some of us even had their collar tabs / ranks sticked to the uniforms using velcros! so that they can take them off whenever they're doin the laundry :)

*GASP*

Someone hold the inevitable onslaught back!

In WW2 they did a similar thing sometimes, but didn't have velcro.

The period way to do it would be with poppers.

*At least for the brits in India/Burma*

yep then again field kit was rarely washed.

You just brushed the mud off when dry.

I wouldnt velcro insignia on to be honest thats just too wrong for me...

Someone posted a while back saying that US troops sewed their unit patches on very loosely, so tey could be removed and sewn on again if they had kit replaced etc.

Stuff that!

well for uk kit invasion regs meant that all insignia had to be removed....

most lads didnt bother.

I know when we were issued our brigade patches we had to sew those on ourselves and they were inspected afterwards to check they were correct and firmly fixed.
