Folks, we need to consider how we're going to deal with the excess of Germans that are keen book on to the Volturno event.

It would be great if we could have a reserve list, but I'm not really sure how to run this. The 16th would be a good bunch of guys to have a along.

I'm pretty confident we'll get the numbers for the Allied side and having 5 or so more on the German side is fine.

il duce has apparently sent a cheque for two Germans that I expect to arrive this week, meaning we'll be at 17 players on the German side.

Thoughts?

If we have more Germans than Allies, with the Allies on the offensive, we'd just need to split the Germans into smaller units to accomodate that. It would be nice to keep the 16th on board and, also, other "regulars" like Che and Carl, who have yet to book.

God only knows what's happened to some of our Allied players! Obviously, some are off playing cowboys with josh but, Bedsnherts, Barrie and Ann, plus a few others, are conspicuous by their absence.

I think Bedsnherts intends to book. Barrie and Ann, I'm not sure.

Agree with Pete above .

suggets the following
Remove any who not paid from the booked list ( I put one on in italics)

Open both sides up to 25 . If we have fewer Allies there are a few German who can switch , and as Pete says we'll just split the Krauts up more to accommadate.

seems ridiculous to be turning people away , and they all had a heads up to book early .

Can we make sure it's just me editing the booking list pls. It'll get confusing otherwise.

I'll open up to 25 per side.

Just to check, who added Matty Wheels to the German side? I've no record of payment from him.

Hello?!!? Anyone there???

I've had a couple of noobs messaging me asking how to book on the German side (because the instructions in the thread aren't clear enough?).

I'm pretty sure we need to top out at 25, perhaps only allowing extras like Che and Carl perhaps...

The Allies need to be updated. I haven't had a chance to access the CiA email for a couple of days but will update today.

Yes- reckon you can handle a 50 player game ? We've not had one for a while .

I reckon the easing of the uniform reqs and less debate on the forum has played a large part of the story .

Good stuff eh? Hopefully the new blood will get our way of playing. We'll need to make sure it's not another Autumn Mist!

Lower ammo limits and good command and control will sort that hopefully. I've been giving thought to my British officer "character" and I reckon he's the cautious type, who doesn't like wasting his men's lives needlessly and will insist on probing patrols and regular reports from his squad members .

Thoughts about this please:

Hello.
I only discovered this site the other day and registered for the first time. I realise that "The Volturno Affair" is now booked up.
A couple of pals of mine are booked in - Tim Gow and Martin Rapier and I wondered if it would be at all possible to squeeze in one more player on the Axis side ??? Sorry I don't have any Allied kit.
Could someone on the organising team please give me an answer on this please.
Here's hoping my plea falls on sympathetic ears.

If squeezing me in isn't an option, would anyone wishing to sell their place please also contact me.

Fingers crossed,
Steve.

We closed Axis bookings a while ago, meaning people could be put out if we allow someone else in when they weren't allowed.

On the other hand, we have 26 people on the Allied side.

On the other, other hand one of them is Sandy. :|

Right.

I think we're being perfectly reasonable asking people to make their own arrangements for the Friday night, however it seems the guys travelling from Newcastle aren't. Is going to a £19 per night Travelodge too much to ask!?

As the site is privately owned and secured, the Close Action guys need to be on site when we're there and we've never discussed Friday night with them, I can't imagine they'd be particularly happy about it!

So, any further thoughts? I'm happy to leave it as I have, unless anyone has any other ideas.

See my post on that thread saying the same . It's the first time the owners have allowed overnight camping at all so no point pushing them just for a few. I don't think any of us want to camp there Friday either .
