hmmmm . volturno line looks promising.
One of the less built up lines, assaulted by US and 8th Army....early October ?

haha...not CiA's Bitter End as hoped for but a Volturno in their fortunes
or barbara.....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Line
reading this the Germans retreated from one ot the other, so it could be .."From Volturno to Barbara" going with our more cryptic event names.
I like that. It means we could also have the Allies attacking across two fronts, British and American, potentially at the end of each valley, as we did with Husky, then meeting up towards the end of the event.
Regarding Italian though, and looking at recent events, this has been overdone a bit. Il Giogo and Monte Cassino etc.
I thought it'd be good to think about other options too.
I've been looking at action in Southern France featuring the 6th Army Group which was made up of US and Free French units:

Here's a map of their actions through southern France up to the German border, which could work nicely:

And here's a good link to a book on the campaign: http://www.history.army.mil/brochures/s ... france.htm
Problem is, it would rule out British uniforms completely, but you could include French partisans.
Webby ran Operation Dragoon game in June 2010, but we could move it inland a bit and take it to the German border...
Any other ideas?

Take it Free French all fought in US gear ?
I don't like the idea of ignoring the Brits, we are likely to get more Brit than US .
Agree with Guy. There's not enough US Infantry players out there. Needs to be Brits or Brits with Americans. What's wrong with doing Italy anyway? From the looks of the photo's, the site suits it well enough, I don't care if others have done Italy based games lately, noone has done a combined op's one.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Cool. Italy was my first instinct.

Good by me !
TBh , 12 games a year ...5 years ...we're all going to run out of scenarios soon
It's interesting to note that all the other volunteer organisers barring Oddball have stuck to historical scenarios, whereas we have done about 25% fictional . Lets keep that one quiet !
So , seg to confirm and then a back story of sorts and a date in the calender.
I don't think there's anything wrong with fictional scenarios within a historical context. Adds a bit of fun!

No I reckon fictional gives us an edge to do more interesting things.
