"That will teach them to ban turbans on the buses".
see - in 1968 you could have a script full of racial stereotypes and STILL have a social conscience
" YOU ,, FAKIR , OFF " classic stuff .they dont write lines like that anymore.
I'll be wearing my kilt properly, I've not sullied the kilt by wearing undies with one in my life...
Put it this way it will be a lucky shot that gets through my kilt it weighs a chuffing ton.
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Yeah actually, i've a spare black kilt too come to think of it only its a summer weight one so probably might blow about a bit...
All I need now is a WWII gordans cap badge
I've got a spare Gordon cap badge and shoulder titles you are welcome to borrow.
That would be awesome, cheers mate
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
i have been told by a former black watch soldier that walking around is fine, continued running in a woolen kilt without undies results in joggers cock....... and it can be very sore
gadge, no offense mate, but im really hopeing you take a tumble, and show the world your ringpiece, even better if the axis get a few shots on target

wow, thats ace stoff. put my glengarry to shame
I can see why you'd want to ditch any unnecessary kit !
Great pics Stof
stof, that looks superb... !!!
Just lose the entrenching tool as that's the post dunkirk version you have there!
Cheers guys, thanks Yith I wasn't sure about the entrenching tool, I assume it should be the shovel, are they very similar to the German one ? and any ideas where to get a carrier for one ?
They are quite similar to the German ones, yes.
As for getting hold of carriers... not the foggiest.
Since not everyone had one, then just not having an entrenching tool at all would probably be the simplest option.
I have some spare Gordon tartan material ( 4" by 8 yards to be exact) leftover from altering my kilt.If anyone wants a piece to use for capbadge backing or shoulder patches ,pm me with your address and I'll stick them in the post.
cheers
got my gordons cap badge today........
So exactly how fussy are you guys about being spot on at your games ?
To put things in perspective, I'm a long time airsofter and dark age re-enactor so I fully understand the obsession about getting things Just-So. For me, seeing a Saxon with a Viking spear is just all wrong, but I am neither that well informed or equipped on he WWII front yet. I'm slowly getting back into Airsoft after a couple of years off, which means that I am not yet VCR registered. Myself and a bunch of mates are very keen to do WWII airsoft, and I can see myself geting as obsessive about having the right dated gear, but to begin with its a lot of research, a big investment and also I can't even buy a period RIF anyway.
I'd love to actually get along to some of the events I've looked at on these forums, because while running round the woods with an M16 is a fun enough way of spending a Saturday afternoon, it isn't really setting my world on fire ! Bu I am kind of concerned about the kit benchmark here.
Spot on? No, not spot on but this event will be prescriptive on kit. That is to say its an early war scenario and therefore kit should reflect that. As a simple example there won't be any camouflage uniforms allowed and in the same way you find a Saxon with a Viking spear just wrong then equally an MP44 would be too.
Kit-wise, if you read through earlier posts you will see that basic early war uniforms are cheap and have the flexibility of being worn to battles of almost any period of the war.
This site does have guns for hire so that is a possibility although I'm not sure of the appropriateness of them.
