Easy - book in!

You will be more than welcome, new to airsoft is no problem - airsofters are very friendly crowd (you don't have to a member of any groups you see on this forum). Check out the 'For Sale' section to see if any MP40's are up for sale.

This will be my first WW2 event also, am experienced in the Airsoft skirmish world but have not been to many events, I have my kitting almost finished, just trying to get BD trousers and gaiters and I should be done, just got a few questions:

1: Ammo limit on game area?
2: timeings for the Saturday if open day is still on?
3: are we still able to camp there overnight?

Many thanks for any of the answers to these questions

"What, you started it!"
"We did NOT start it!"
"Yes you did, you invaded Poland..."

1. Ammo limits are usual CiA rules, it's there on the Autumn Mist game section, probably stickied.
2. Open day is still on, I'll find out what time they game on but I daresay you could have the option of playing from lunchtime if travel is an issue.
3. Camping overnight Saturday is still on, be prepared for much bleakness.

Many thanks, must have missed the ammo limit one, the travel wont be a problem as I am only at Stafford and I have slept in some of the worst places in the world, so bleakness is not a problem either, have slept out in extremes of temperature from -30 to +55 degrees C, and Afghan is not a good place to go camping.

many thanks and see you there

It was either that or digging a snow hole if the snow is deep enough, but I need three days snow fall to do that and a lot of time to dig it out, it's amazing what you learn on an artic survival course!,

and wil definatly be digging out all my cold weather kit that weekend, I'm not going to freeze!

will also be bringing the makeings for bacon butties, just to keep moral up!! :D

I have tried searching and keep finding reference to the "usual CIA rules" but not the actual CIA rules .
I have read lots of threads discussing the medic rules and ammo limits but not a definitive list of what they actually are .
I sort of expected it to be easy to find them maybe on the start up page tool bar .
It would useful for me to know in advance so I can get magged up before I arrive as i will probably not get there till Sunday morning (not sure though) .
So can someone please point me to the list of rules I am sure they must be in an obvious place and I am sorry in advance .
I know this isn't ASC UK so I wont get three written warnings for daring to ask .

As you've asked the question twice I've deleted the other thread......and banned you. ;)

Yith and Chomley, you'd think so wouldn't you, but those sections don't say anything about medic rules or ammo limits unfortunately.

Now, onto an answer.

Ammo:

You are allowed 600 'active' rounds on your person at once. That means rounds that can be used per 'regen' or when you return to your base or field hospital. You can carry more than that in your bag to use throughout the day, but you can only use 600 rounds at a time. You can't re-load over that 600 round limit in the field, you can only do this at your base. Of course, if you only have one 50 round mag, you can reload that up to 12 times, but not beyond that.

Support weapons can have 2000 rounds if I remember correctly. Might be 3000. But it's academic anyway.

Regen:

You carry a bandage. This is effectively one life in the field. If you get hit you need to shout 'MEDIC' or 'SANI' or 'STRETCHER BEARER' (or whatever) loudly and drop to the ground. Any other player can medic you by tying the bandage on your arm, effectively giving you another life. If you get hit again, then you have to return to your designated field hospital, or regen point, where you can remove your bandage and re-enter the game with two 'lives' again.

Designated medics can give you another 'life' when you've been hit once by removing the bandage from your arm. You can only do this once between visits to a field hospital; so the maximum number of times you can get hit before returning to a field hospital is three times.

Throughout a game organisers may decide to adjust regen rules to allow the game to flow better. We may move field hospitals or suspend regens for a while. We don't do this often and only as a last resort. We prefer to come up with some other guff about 'tactical withdrawal' or similar!

Hope that helps.

I intend to write all our rules up at some point so that we don't have to do it from memory on game days. After a night on the vino it can be hard to recall!

Thanks for that it clears it up a bit as I am thinking about being a medic .
I have 9 mags for my MP40 so i thought it was 450 rds .
I am surprised it's 600 that means a potential fire power the same as a modern mil sim if you have mids on an AK for instance.
I am surprised that the limit is the same for everyone including snipers ,I have just recently played operation pheonix rising and snipers were only aloud 100 sniper ammo and 300 normal but then they allowed 400 fps fixed semi aeg's and I am not sure about that.
I still have to work out what my Thompson mags hold I have two hi caps but one is smaller than the other so I think it is a 190 and a 400 ?

Designated medics are organised during the game as it is signified by carrying a medic bag. That way you don't have to commit to being a medic all day (unless you want to) and pass the role to someone else.

Three of your 9 MP40 mags can be refilled in one 'life' giving to a total of 600

It matters not one whit if snipers were given 20,000 rounds, they won't be able to use them in reality.

Yes, your Thompson mags are approx 190 + 450, so 600 rounds if you don't brim them.

Mag capacity for CiA games is neither here nor there, it's the ammo you can use that matters (although many players use low or mid caps for 'realism' but this is personal choice)

Thanks for all that I just know it's better if I am magged up for the first game and have everything packed into my load out ready no last minute decisions .
On this subject are we expected to carry our mess tins with us at all times as we are eating in the field ?
Last time I went to this site (the open day ) there was little car parking and it was a long walk to the action from the cars so I plan on carrying enough spare ammo to leave at the regen as well as maybe spare water ,battery and my mess tins if this is deemed appropriate but I am out of touch with this site so things might have changed.
I just don't think nipping back to the cars is going to be a quick mid game proposition and not much chance the regens will be anywhere near them as it's a big site.

You will be in the field all day on this game and expected to take everything you need with you. There will be areas around the site where you can dump kit.

All our games are run like this. There won't be a 'first' game there will be one day-long game punctuated only by a break at lunch.
