Has anyone contacted Doubletap , or are we leaving this this after Xmas ? Are you still happy to do this Stephen or would you prefer one of us instead ?

Also...... any thoughts as to when to bomb up and review the site ? Happy to drive up in mine although three might be a push .

Only ask because January I'm off to China which will fuck up my weekends that month .

I can't do anything this side of Christmas, so it might need to be February.

This side of the new year is out for me too. February or March would be better.

bollox to the three weeks left of this year !

no..... I reckon we should nail this site as in actually speak to the operators and book the site for the date we've posted before end Jan ? Site recce can wait but should do it in Feb...time ticks away fast, leave it till March..... decide the site is too wank for it and then we'll struggle to get the July date from anywhere else . For all we know Cerberus won't be using the site next year, and "yet another game at Ceri" would not be good

so Q remains does someone want to pick up on this or shall I . No dramas either way as long as it gets done :D

Ah, I think you're getting missed up with Swynnerton, who we were waiting for an answer from.

Coincidentally I got a message from them today asking if we're still interested...

OK, this needs further discussion. When are we thinking of for something like this now? I think perhaps we could use the October date that we're currently holding for Red Ball Express.

I've contacted Andy about a site visit to Cerberus in Feb.

I need to let the guys at Swynnerton know by the 12th that we're still interested, and for when. Could do with a firmer answer from you guys.

Cheers

OK, I'll let the chap know that we're still interested, but that we'd possibly like a look around before we can decide anything, as well as needing to know more about the on-site restrictions.

Pete, it's reasonably easy for you and me to do a recce, so perhaps we could pop along there in the new year.

Not sure about Swynnerton fitting as Arnhem but, it would work for Stalingrad! I reckon this could be our big chance to finally nail Stalingrad, perhaps even collaborate with other organisers to make it the best WW2 event ever and, do justice to a battle that we have tried to put on many times in the past.

LOL you've bolloxed it now Pete ! Putting the name of "the Russian Event" to Swynn means it's jinxed , a plague of infested rats will move in during September , or freak weather conditions will wash it away , or Col "One Ball No legs" will decide he needs to give his cadets a good thrashing there the weekend we choose .

Call it "Sisk of Cash for nobbers who just want to shoot white balls around III" and we'll have a confirmed booking for £250 in a week. :giggle:

Agreed. I think AGS and Wladek would make good collaborators. I'd be keen to avoid working with Gunman again. The profit motive doesn't interest me.

Wladek would mean involving yith and as much as I like rich I do not want to have to manage him as well.it would all get focused around kit and crap. Ag s means bed s and herts who doesn't seem to want to have anything to do with us .

Not sure about that, I think he's just not been able to make any of our events.

Don't have a problem with him myself, he's good in the field , just got the impression more interested in doing his own events ....bit like me in that regard !
