OK, now that Chrimbo's out of the way, Andy's got back to me.
We can't visit the site until March as it's the shooting season until then. What dates in March are good for you guys?
In the meantime, we can certainly work up a more detailed event brief and open bookings.
Any thoughts?
Unknown on March, as I'm soon to be shafted with a new shift pattern. Personally, I can't see the point in putting up briefings or any depth of information until we have done the recce.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
I'm just thinking about getting bookings open. We don't need anything too detailed. I know it's July, but there are a lot of events crowding the calendar this year.
I suppose it would be fine to open bookings at Easter - that's three months for people to book.
My timetable has changed for this term, so not so much of a problem with weekend stuff (barring the April/May exam season), so site recce any time from March onwards works for me.

OK guys, I'm going to go with March 4th for this one if that suits. I'll let you know if Andy confirms that.
March 4th is ok for me.

Bah! Andy's not replying to my texts and calls now.
Is it worth getting together one evening at Pete or Stephen's soon to discuss this event and the training day ?
Ok, Andy called.
He's had some work and family issues, so...
Anyway, the upshot is that March 18th is an option for site recce.
Potential issue is that there is planned logging this year on the site which means what we see in March might not be there in July.
Thoughts?
the 18th is doable for me

Yes, unfortunately since posting it transpires it isn't for me, but that's not too much of an issue. There might be other dates too, I'm waiting for Andy to confirm about the logging plans.
I can do Swynnerton on the 11th though.
yeah, i can do the 11th as well

OK folks, we really do need to get up to Keighley for a recce soon.
As there are footpaths passing through the woodland, we don't actually need to be there on one of their game days. (They still aren't advertising any events at Keighley on their website).
So, I'm free:
Saturday 24th March
Friday 30th April (preferably not though)
Sunday 1st April
Sunday 8th April
Saturday 14th April (and I'd then go straight to the Patton Stalled game).
I don't think we should leave it any later than that.
Alternatively, we can sort our scenario based on generalisations, open bookings then do the detail in May/June.

I can do April 14th out of those dates (assuming I still have a job by then!).
Incidentally, I had lots of people asking about Foxley at the gunman game last weekend. Also, a fair few asking about the training day. I thought we would struggle for numbers but, it was good to see some interest.

That might work quite well Pete. Perhaps we could share a ride up to Keighley then go back via the Patton game. I'm happy to drive.
OK guys, looks like Pete and I are going to head up to Keighley ahead of the Patton game. We'll head up to do the site visit on the 14th then head down to Melton to camp for the Patton game the next day.
Guy, Jay, are you able to join us?
I'll have a shufty at the diary and check.
