Agreed, absolutely brilliant - special mention to PBI for getting it right first time!
High for me was winning, of course
Low was losing my P38 mag - and Brenda!
Just home, great weekend, weather could have been a smige more forgiving last night but today the sun shone for us (my first EVER dry sunny airsofting event
Need to strap my hand up as I threw myself down and sprained it after lunch and its really starting to hurt now
am just uploading a few piccies Che took with the digi cam
and you'll have to wait for the more authentic piccies, I'll get development of the primative pics sorted this week and scan the result (hopefully should have some interesting ones
)
To the new chaps I played along side it was a pleasure to the rest ..... ah shucks you guys know you rock
Wasn't sure tbh what to make of today (can say it now its over ) but I actually felt there were a few great ideas that could be carried into other games.
Thanks to Yith and Gadge, Evo for his efforts tho I never managed to get in the bunker and the F & O Chaps

This was probably the best days airsofting ever for me I would do WW2 every time if I could ,it makes such a big difference when the squad leaders know what they are doing and everyone is committed to realism .
Well done chomley worner ,yiff etc on that score .
Also I thought the scenarios were set up nicely and the medic rules worked very well .
Top day

I should have added on this post, an extra special thanks to the bopday fairy for keeping my real age of (I think it was calculated to be between 60 and 80 ) a secret

Only downer for me was the flag being damaged at the end
Really sorry about the flag guys. In the heat of the battle it was a case of grab it and run, I didnt think it would be tightly secured
hope it can be repaired in some way.
As for the Day, I though it was fantastic! I thought the combat mission style of game play worked very well. Big thanks to Gadge, F&O, PBI and all the players. It was great to meet and chat with some of you too.
“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

it wasn't when i put it up, i tied the knots in a way so they released when you pulled the flag. it must have fallen down and someone re-tied it back up.
Never mind, these things happen in war!
Well I had a great day too. I also feel the short dynamic campaign games worked really well, it got you involved in the story and meant achieving your objectives had a major affect on the battle. Having shorter games also helped prevent it stagnating as people didn't have it stop to reload mags mid battle. The limited lives also made you think about what you were doing a bit more than usual.
The scenarios were also generally well thought out and enjoyable, the mix of intense action and quiet, tense games was great.
All in all a fantastic day and thanks to PBI, F&O and everyone there for making it happen.
To start with, I didn't know if I'd like the short scenarios, but as the day panned out, I soon got into the swing of things, and the fact that winning one scenario changed the course of the war (!) made it very interesting. The variety of scenarios was fantastic - not just shoot 'em up all day, but lots of sneaky beaky and intelligent play required. The laying of the phone line was a fantastic idea!
Huge thanks to all who made great efforts, to enable the rest of us to have a great time - PBI organisers and F & O people too.
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Many thanks to the PBI organisers, F&O for letting us use their site and to all players who were there. I had a great day.
Note to self: Don't buy red cans of fizzy pop
Well what can I say but it was absolutely fantastic. For my first foray into WW2 airsoft it was great, good crowd, good games & great fun. Definately up for more, hope they all live up to this standard. Well chuffed to receive the iron cross, thanks.PBI did a great job with the organisation, many thanks to them.
