We were going to keep this secret but we decided to announce that players attempting Operation Varsity will all get a nice momento of their day.

As the allies represent the 'ox and bucks' infantry regiment we cast up cap badges for every player to stick on their beret... and we don't want the Germans feeling under appreciated so we have made them a special uniform accessory too.

Every axis player who stays the duration will be awarded the West Wall' medal for the defence of the Reich which is affixed to a genuine medal bar and can be worn on the tunic!

Heres a sneak preview of the gifts.

That would be the 'glass of port' in gold with crossed cigars and tea leaves.
I may have an award for you my friend for that feat of courage...

Please note that the British players will need to have their badge sewn on to their beret for the event.

I have already supplied badges to many of the booked in players and have pm'ed the others. So far I have not received many replies to the PMs. I need delivery addresses to get the badges out to you.

German players do not need to worry about this... as their medal bar will be presented on the day.

Hi

As promised my badge arrived in the post this morning and will now be sewn on.
Thanks again for organising this and congratulations on a very fine piece of casting.

Am I right in saying the cap badge goes on a maroon beret?

Yep just stich it on the felt backing where your staffords badge normally goes, dont stitch it too tight as this is just one of cap badge change!

Do you have any spare metal bits for the cap badge mate? Mine seems to have fallen off in the heat of combat - making my memento of the day a green felt circle with a staple in the middle.

I'll get one sent out to you... I think I have a spare. Failing that I can get an extra one cast up and sent out.

Only if you've got one mate - don't bother with getting more made up.
